Changing nation during game Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations: Deluxe Edition

Does anyone know how to change the nation you are playing in the middle of a game? I'm playing as brandenburg and have spent the last several wars attempting to get my swedish allies to annex the last teutonic order province, but they always end up settling for indemnities. I want to switch to sweden for a bit to ensure annexation, but I can't figure out what I edit in the save game file to facilitate that. Anyone know?

Got spare money?

I've found this to work...

Start up your normal game, then load an old game (different nation) while your current game is still running. You should come up as that old nation within the current game.
