	If civIII comes out, what do you do first ? Remove this text

Me myself will play the game first against the AI for a couple of weeks to completely understand it. (and because it's fun I guess, since civII against the AI is still a great way to spend my time)

Later I'll start playing mp games.
What do you guys do ?

I'll probably skim thru the manual and start playing, learning it as I go along. I'll play the AI till I get pretty good, then I might consider MPs. I haven't played Civ2 MP and I probably wouldn't fare too well in an MP game. By the time I get good enough at it, Civ3 will be out. Of course, then I'll be on pretty equal footing.

You seem to lack the option were MP isn't involved. Intentionally??

i will look for the aussie group to play MP straight away, that way we all playing MP from the same level, not against people who have memorised every little loophole

Well, in fact the first one is the 'no MP' option.
It says "I'll play pherhaps MP"

Pherhaps I should've left out the documentation in there.

What you are missing is this option:

Play against the AI for some weeks, When I understand the game I will maybe play MP

Cuz I sure don't want to read all the documentation (at least not within a year of the buying date ) and I'm not sure if I even want to try MP (Depends on how the MP thing is setup)

Well I'll probably play single player and multiplayer against some people, both in the context of trying to figure the game out, kinda learn of the other human player and we could compare notes when playing.

	Learning Together Tired of ads?

I plan to know as much as I can about the game BEFORE it is released.

That way when I get it I can spend 2 hours looking over the material. 2 to 4 hours getting the hang of the differences between civ2 and civ3 and then go online with my friends who are planning to learn as we go together. That way we can all learn from each other.

Everyone else will be in the same boat, I may probably be a little ahead of the curve at first.

I will refer back to the manual between playing picking up things that I may have missed.

i just hope civ 4 comes out quick enough to prevent all the genius on this forum finding all the formulae used by the programmers and so learning a few loopholes that those of us that actually think this is just a game dont learn , and thus get whipped everytime we paly MP ....

Get my homework/projects/work done for at least 2 weeks ahead of time and then cut off all human interaction while I destroy my retinas on my cathode ray computer screens for days on end. Boy, doesn't that sound plesent?

1. I'll buy the game.
2. I'll hurry home and install it.
3. If the installation takes some time I'll look at the manual.
4. I'll start the game and read the 'In the beginning the Earth was without form and void..." intro (if any) and start as Singleplayer game at King or Prince level against as many Civs as possible.
5. I'll play until the next morning (or until I fall asleep in front of my computer.)
6. I'll hoe it is weekend so that I may play more.
7. As soon as I’ve understood the basics I’ll play MP with my Brother.
8. If I’ve broadband I’ll play MP over the Internet.
