I have just emailed you a map. I had an error in your email address the first time but did not get a message back from the internet telling me the address was bad. I assume I accidentally got a working address (hope the recipient wasn't too confused)...

doesn't matter to me who hosts.
i have a cable line and can also host if needed.
when do we want to start this game =)

well tnx boann , i just ment im not being a good host by getting this show on the road. i think u should host since your the only other person with cable in this group. so cavebear send boann the map. and we'll try getting this show on the road. post your e-mail address or contact cavebear. as soon as possable i think weekends would be best for all i work nights 2nd shift , but thats me..

Boann as host makes sense to me. Weekends work for me also. I dont have ICQ (cant get it to work), so when we decide when we are going to play can we meet in a chatroom somewhere before the game just to make sure we are all on the same page. The zone would work but it doesnt have to be there. I just think we should have a place to go if someone gets disconnected, to discuss things before hand etc.etc.etc.

i have that and can connect with you for that while playing .... meeting at the zone is fine
i am in mountain time zone.....and don't get home during the week till after 6 pm.....
weekends are more open.

i received the map from cavebear.
i won't open it till we are ready to play

i'm ready anytime this weekend my icq is on invisible but i should be around and the Barbarian should be on after 4 pm sat. i would think, and all day sunday seeing how he cant post for himself the lazy stiff

hi,
looks like from reading the posts that we need to do this game
on sat night or sunday .

how about we try for sunday afternoon around 2pm
mountain time.

i have the map in my email
and hosting is fine with me.
i have deity dude on yahoo . so i believe im connected
with everyone :

i have read some of the other game threads.
lets just play a normal game of civ , no weird stuff
no city bribe is my preferance...
as host i will wait till all others choose their civs
and take whats left.

i guess the only question i have is
are we going to seek and destroy each other
or play to a graph type win?
cavebear is there a certain way you want us to play
this game?

Sunday is fine with me boann, not sure what time 2 pm mountian time is but i'll be on all day to be safe. i thinks it's high noon for us Michigan boy's which is what the 3 of us are in. i will pass the word to the barbarian seeing how he dosent come over to read or post anymore.. i know he has sundays of from work, if you see Deity Dude let him know he usally on evenings he said, should've talked to ya last night all 4 of us were on at the same time "shoot"

Cavebear already outlined some general rules:
king, 1x1x, no city/unit bribes, roving.

The questions open is more about certain tactics.

I'll list a few and tell you my opinion and perhaps everyone can do the same and see if we come to a consensus

Incremental Rush Buying - OK
Ship Chaining - NO
Gifting or trading cities - NO
Hitting wait so a plane doesn't crash - NO
Alliances - NO
Continuing to build a wonder after its been built - OK
Tech stealing, Embassies, sabotage - OK
Caraporting - NO
Moving workers multiple times in a turn to maximize trade - OK (not even sure how that works but it sounds ok)
Building an Airbase to increase production - NO


I'm pretty sure I can play noon Sunday - I'll confirm by Thursday - probably until about 5 or 6

I think the game should be played until surrender or destruction. Graph games are a totally different strategy and can be easily manipulated. Players should be eliminated on surrender.

Thats my opinion. I think everyone should try and sound off ahead of time so we dont spend an hour at gametime trying to figure ot out.

Another issue is the timer. If we do have one I think we should agree that all time change requests will be honored.

Final issue. Since we all have different IM packages (i.e. yahoo vs ICQ). I think we should find a chatroom - zone or whatever - to go to just in case something happens so we can all talk at the same time in real-time

although i must plead ignorance on some of the
things you list. have no clue what they are..
so you won't have to worry about me doing them

we can meet at the zone if you like and chat there
in a room before the game starts.

surrender or destruction...sounds fine to me

Alpha Centuri or death would be preferable, with the PG only used if the game gets to 2020 with no outright winner.

well looks like Hawk and Barb have taken the lead
and then Deity Dude...and im last on the graph..
fun game so far....
Hawk found me and kicked me around a while...
then DD did the same

but im still alive

its a fun game so far
we will try to resume monday night

the barb destroyed a new city i had built too...dang him....
and tested out my cap a bit......its heavily fortified...........
also DD hit a city with elepants and a horse.......i had placed to block his invasion...its on a mountain and heavily fortified too ...
