	multiplaying etiquette Put an end to popups!

Just been playing on the net. Played KO but he is good and had me well beaten twice. Then we played again and just by luck I turned out 2 knights and a samurai in quick succession from ruins. I then found him and attacked is that acceptable? I don't think he was happy even though I did apologise.

Yes, it is acceptable.

You didn't cheat. Everything was legal.
You found mercanaries in the ruins and you kicked his butt!

Of cource you were lucky and that doesn't prove that you are better than him.

Lol had it happen to me when a guy found two samuri and destroyed me in like two turns. :0) On the other hand I played a guy once who settled on ice. I stopped him from expanding and his civ died in like 6 turns from diesease and famine lol. No need to appologise say good game, new one, luck is hopefully part of your game use it when it happens to you lol.

It happens the key is to say good game you lucky %@&^* lol then get on with the new one if you lose that way... It is very rare an online game ends in alien life. It is war so if you have an early edge take it, it may be the only one you get.


Has KO offered you information about bug use in GL?
Does he use them and do you guys agree to use them or not before the game begins?

Yes I once played nuke boy and on turn 6 (small map) I destroyed his civ. I find a knight in ruins with mountained archer. Then I simply rolled into his only 2 cities undefend... while his warrior scout was looking for ruins himself!

It never should have happened beacause we started about 8 squares from each other..

If you don't like ruins, you can always disable them.

If I remember correctly, it is done like this:

look for this line in const.txt:
RUINS_CHANCE_PER_BOX 1.0

change it to
RUINS_CHANCE_PER_BOX 0.0

Make sure you change the original file, not a copy of it in a scenario folder.

Only the player that starts the game needs to do this.
(He will build the map, without ruins.)

No, no info about bug use has been offered. I never use bugs or cheats. actually I don't know how to use them, and im not interested in learning. I don't know if he uses them, but someone playing on sunday told me he does. I never ask any one about those rules before I play. There are so few people playing that I agree to almost everything just to get a game. So i never complicate things by agreeing to use them or not before the game begins.

That's a good point, if you win at your way vs a guy using cheats or tricks, it's better for you.

Hi berxpert et al
This Saturday I am going out, but I am always there on sunday too, usually from 4pm to whenever my time. (10am GMT to ?)
I have thought about PBEM, but some times I cannot access the net for days at a time. This Is Thailand.
So just let me know the exact time, could even play FRiday?, but friday evening here is not so good for you.

Im positive there are a few bad apples. but most of us dont cheat. Besides there is a consequence to that cheat! Rush buy granarys all the time you will never have big cities . Then you know there cheating when tanks are pouring outta size 3 or 4 cities

This is hardly any indication of cheating whatsoever. I have generally used my smallest cities to garrison tanks and what have you... People tend to think a city is weak when it is small... Surprise! Surprise!
