"St Jon,
Regarding your accusations that the Wales entered the World War uninvited you are wrong! We had been invited to join the war and we had granted the request. I bet the same thing had happened to the Greeks too.
As for your speach about unoccupied island you are wrong again! France colonized an occupied island! We all know that each city has two tiles radius and the island was within Llangollen's radius. The radius a city occupies are owned by this city. Exeptions can be made for cities near borders with the acceptance of both parties but here is not our borders!
I will proceed with the besiege of Le Palais and if that makes you an enemy for life so be it. Wales always honored their friendship with France with tech gifting and tech exchanging and by enjoyning long peace while France dishonored it twise first with their involvement in the Melbourne revolution and now by settling an island owned by Wales!
Chairman Thor,
If you want to build an army to protect your lands be my guest, it's the right thing to do. However this does not excuse your recent gathering of troops on our borders. You may as well protect your lands by stationing your troops a few tiles back. But sending them next to my division and two tiles away from Sydney would give you a huge advantage in case you would support France not only diplomatically but militarily also. Therefore I ask for the withdrawal of your first division one tile back and your second at list three tiles back.
I am sure that you both are cooking something as it is not a normal situation to claim as fair the settlement of Le Palais. If you do then it means that I have the right to start building cities within France and Incan Republic as well and so should everybody even if the city was founded within an existing city's radius. So let's start building cities to each other lands! What a great idea!"

Greek bloodhounds have been pulled from their duties searching for Amelia Earhardt and Lord Lucan, to begin the more important search for St Jon.
And Greece stands ready to assist Spain in a noble multinational peacekeeping operation in France! Already, Navy SEALs are prepared to enter the anarchy-ridden land of France, so as to save St Jon from the custody of any radical groups that might be forcibly holding him, should this prove to be the case. Our hearts go out to his family members during this difficult time...
And paratroopers on practice drops near Mount Isa witnessed a strange sight as they descended...an ancient Inca knight! Comrade Thor, you had agreed that he would be moved to a nearby glacier. Instead, he is now lumbering around on one of my people's farms, making a nuisance of himself. This is not the action of a friend of Greece! Please move him at once, as you agreed, for he is reducing the amount of food available to my people, which is not an acceptable situation...

Those damn knights are causing me more trouble than they are worth! I forgot to move them yet again! Tell you what, dispose of those no good morons and offer me the alliance request again. We'll pretend it was an accident and make no further mention of it eh? .. I mean, having an obsolete military unit running around pointlessly in your land is of no use to me. Unlike you, I dont feel the necessity to spy on you to ensure your friendship!

"The peacefull transition from the previous theocratic regime to the new national state has been successfully completed. However a brief period of anarchy followed the transition as expected. Supporters of the older goverment, clerics in the majority and religious citizens resisted on the new order. No casualties has been reported from both sides and the inciters of the revolt has been sent to the high security prison of Cartigan in the same section Braker Morant is holded to be put in trial.
King Constantine resigned from the throne of Wales, abolished Monarchy and created the National Party by putting himself to its leadership and leading Wales to the new reality.
It was a nessesary transition after the rapid rise of nationalism in Wales, French caused by their direct contestation of the Welsh territorial integrity and the threat of scaling hostilities and invading Wales by air and sea.
The Welsh stance against her enemies is anticipated to further harden and become less elastic in the future.
However the new government wishes a peacefull cooexistance with our neighbors and is ready to give the chance to the implacable French to reconsider their acts.
We shall grant a grace period to the French of unspecified time to disband the city of Le Palais and publically appologize for their crimes against Wales.
Be warned though that if any French offensive force is spotted within or near or heading to Welsh territory will be destroyed.
Le Palais will be blocked by sea and air and no foreign presence will be permited to approach.
We wish peace with the French and the immidiate cease of the hostilies but Paris must accept our legitimate rights"

As new hope springs that St Jon might be alive and well, Greece maintains a policy of "watch and wait". We request that Spain also stay their hand before rushing into an unknown situation in France. It is possible that the sudden appearance of Spanish rescue troops might only make the situation worse! By all means, ready your troops for a lightning raid to save St Jon, should that become necessary, but for now, please excercise cautious restraint!
However, should the price of French Foie Gras indeed rise, that would constitute a National Emergency for Greece, and would necessitate an immediate corrective mission into France, until such a travesty could be reversed. We hesitate to even contemplate the horror of a shortage of Champagne...
==============
Congratulations are in order to Wales for the recent peaceful transition of their government. We also congratulate our old friend Constantine for having made the change without any major disruption or chaos.
==============
Comrade Thor, we have not the heart to dispatch your ancient Knight in the manner you suggest. Would it not be preferable to disband the aging rider, and put both he and his steed out to a well-deserved pasture? Surely the salary you must pay him each month cannot be delivering any value to Inca, as he appears to spend it all in Greek taverns on drink and wenches!
But if you do not wish to disband him, at least order his removal from fertile Greek land to a nearby glacier, where he will have adequate ice for all his drinks...

Thank you, Swissy!

What hath mankind wrought upon the world?
Both flooding and parching have devistated whole regions, and it is hard to judge the total effect upon the people of this planet. While we're not yet aware of any loss of life, many people in Greece have been severly impacted, and the implications for social change are yet to be studied.
Dire news, as numerous rivers have suddenly dryed up throughout Greece. It is an unsettling sight to find sailing ships now sitting high and dry in the middle of wheatfields. As hunger sets in, some of the less educated mutter of witchcraft, and look for a scapegoat.
Thousands of panicked fishermen have marched on Athens, seeking help, but the only solution appears to be that they move their homes to some of the newly formed rivers. Government organizations have been formed to help aid them in these moves.
Greece is grateful for the magnanimous offer by Tomas de Torquemada for new technology to help combat worldwide pollution, and would ask that such scientific knowledge be shipped to Greece posthaste. We pray that other nations will also take advantage of Spain's selfless offer, that such a calamaty which has befallen us never happen again!
We hope the distinguished Spanish cavalry officer that we have encountered enjoys a pleasant journey on the languid Taramosalata River, and have sent protection lest any stray Barbarians suddenly threaten him! But please be aware that a goup of starving Greek fishermen will be sailing down the river next turn, to settle a fishing colony...

Spain notes with concern that yet another Communist regime has surfaced with the overthrow of St. Jon...
This at a time when global warming has finally been proved as the scourge that our enlightened scientists have been warning for years!
Spain calls upon both Inca and France to renounce Communism as the foul polluting government that it is and embrace Fascism - if your governments are both willing, Spain will gladly instruct both nations in the art of making one's trains run on time...
Dearest Xenophon,
Regarding the Taramasolata river, this is our natural border and one in which you hold most of the river in your territory - we too have starving fishermen and river traders who have been similarly displaced! Spain has a larger population than Greece, but is cramped into a far smaller space, surely you understand that we should have the right of colonisation of this small scrap of land when you have so much more than us!?
Our Cavalry is in situ, with a settler already well on his way...
A small problem...
Spain was unable to research Conservation this cycle as it was not an option for us - evidently our scientists were not concerned with what they thought was the hoax of global warming...
Perhaps Greece or another nation could research this advance, in the interests of the future of our planet? We have but 30 cycles before the effects of the next stage of global warming are felt and it will not be a pretty sight!
Failing that, Spain will attempt to try again once she has researched her next advance - either way, we call upon Inca, France and Greece to lower their production as yours are the civilisations with the most polluting cities...
