	Mulitplayer Civ Increase Your PM Length

How is this on the Internet?

Is there people to be found to play with?

How does it compare to playing by LAN (my prefered method)?

I am asking because I usually play by LAN and the people I played with moved away. I am wondering if it is worth it to play online.

I never played on a LAN but if you played against humans its probably similiar to multiplayer internet (except lag time) which I prefer to single player any day.

it is basically the same cept with lag
Actually with fast processors and high speed connections it runs pretty good.Its not even too bad on a 56k dial up.There are more technical problems which make an instant messenger like ICQ vital.
A LAN is better but online is very playable.

Lots of players online but finishing and continuing is a bit of a problem.I find it best to stick with a small group of "regulars" and/or "semi regulars" but there is organized leagues,team play and what not.

I highly recommend it until you can get together another LAN group.

so my curent connection speed of 400 kB/s should be fast enough to not be annoying huh?

I would like to get on a game (haven't played much recently though, my freinds moved away christmas time), where do I go?

Well if you after a quick game for fun goto www.zone.com they have a lobby there usually got 10-20 people around wanting to play civ 2.

If you after a more serious type game , look no further than here. In "Setting up IP gamesXXX " thread you will see some people trying to organise a game.

Another way is to simply post a thread here (well in advance not like a few hours more like a few days before) of your time zone , the time you and day you can play and any favourite settings.

Lastly if you havent already got it, DL ICQ and add Civ2 MGE Gamefinder Active list.

All you have to do is ask and you shall get to play some wonderful players, keep away from Rasputin as he is nearly unbeatable, he even beat the mighty Eyes of the twilight zone.

only at the low level of king War4 and not using ICS .. my stlye of negotiaiton doesnt win over the ai
