Who is the Anonymous Animated Pharaoh? Suffering from ads?

We've all seen the no-name animated Pharaoh picture. The question is, who is it? Pick a choice, and tell us why.

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

I searched the web, and there have been more then one black Pharaoh :damn!: I'd bet it's Tutankhamen or his father what's his name Amen-something. But I know it's a man. And Cleopatra wasn't black, didn't you see the film?

Cleopatra was from greece and obviouisly white. But according to Plato (I believe) the old-time Egyptians was black. Not necessarily intense blue-black - probably brighter. But definitely negro race. Perhaps its underlying rasist reasons why people still look at ancient egyptians as golden light-brown - more like present day egyptians. Compare with blue-eyed white european looking Jesus in movies and paintings (obviously false).

King Tut was a short-lived insignificant boy-king at the time. I go for Ramses II/III, or (if female) Hapsepsut.

Enter the AD-FREE zone

Cleo=> no way
remain
Hapsepsut and Ramses
=> Ramses we had in Civ I and there he isn't black
so I go for Hapsepsut(unless Ramses has had to much sun in the last 10 years )

Put an end to popups!

Hapsepsut was the first female pharoah, as well as the first (and possibly?) only woman to wear all the regalia of a full male pharoah.

It's obviously female. Look at the chin, mouth etc. My vote goes for Cleo, even though she was descended from Greeks.

Yes, thanks Ecthelion. Ekhnaton, the first of the "rogue" Pharaoh's who skipped sides from worshipping the traditional gos Ra and Amen to worshipping Aton. He was one of the first rulers to have adopted a monotheistic religion.
I have an impression that Ekhnaton would of been black, but considering the aforementioned facts, he wouldn't be the choice of Firaxis as the Egyptian leader.

I reckon it is Ramesses II. Who else would they pick for the role of a great Egyptian pharaoh?

quite a naughty statement for someone who admits he has no clue about history.... there have been many great pharaos, Rich, Ramses would just be one of them, and I'm pretty sur ehe's not even the most famous one...

If you want to have a famous Pharaoh, you would want Tutankhamen (or Tutankhaton) as the leader. But he wasn't pretty influencial, he's tomb just happened to be one of the rare that weren't raided until archaeologists did it.

Wrong, Shade. Tutankhamen was a New Kingdom Pharaoh. He lived in the era when Pharaohs were being buried in the Valley of the Kings. Pyramids hadn't been built since the Old Kingdom, centuries, no, millenia earlier!

d_dudy -

The "guy between Abe and Gandhi" has been 100% confirmed (via screenshot) as Alexander the Great, leader of the Greeks.

As for our Anonymous Pharaoh, we can only plead that Firaxis reveal their secrets to us poor mortals.

I think the most likely options are the leaders from CivII, as Firaxis seems to be following original decisions for the most part.

That means that the Pharaoh is either a really butch woman or an effeminate guy. I don't think Cleopatra and Ramses would prefer such descriptions. Maybe it IS Akhenaton ! All the sculptures of him are shaped kind of strange...

I don't know.

Don't be offended, I'm sorry if I seemed "direct."

The animated leaders we have seen:

Abraham Lincoln (American)
Mao Tse-Tung (Chinese)
Elizabeth I (English)
Joan of Arc (French)
Alexander (Greek)
Mohandas Gandhi (Indian)
Hiawatha (Iroquois)
Tokugawa Ieyasu (Japanese)
?Pharaoh? (Egyptian)
Victoria/Catherine/Maria Theresa (Unknown ... is it even used?)

See the Civs included thread for more info.
