I don't know Makeo, I was taking 15-30 seconds a turn and you over 3 minutes.

Definately diety. hes a cross between a snail and a turtle. I have 3 times his units and cities and i take under 20 secodns.

I don't know what he does but Deity is the slowest player I have played. I think it has something to do with micro management, squeezing that last trade arrow out of every turn. Although it could be just procrastination.

When are you going to reveal exactly what you are doing Deity?

Lag is the main reason but in game terms I tend to get involved in complex manouvers and also with caravans. I slow down a wee bit when I start rush buying masses of caras. And it's true, my memory is not what it used to be! I can't always trust the GoTo command and with a dozen caras or more I'm hesitating to make sure I match supply and demand. Cities changing demand really throws me

I DON'T micro during my turn, EXCEPT if I just revolted and WLTPD'ing. In a 7 player game I know I've got time but in 3 or 4 player games with young turks I do scan the F4 key briefly before hitting return.

I'm sorry for existing, then again....

Besides AH, what was your advice with this game??

Perhaps if you just played with one computer instead of 5 you migt be quicker, I know it slows me down using 5 computers at the same time.

Hydey was slow ..... but hes nowhere near as slow as Deity..... thing is D is slow at the beginning and i know he doesn't load on to a second computer so i am not sure what it is.....

a copmbination of lag and beign too careful... It is not just the modem speed that causes lag, but also the exchange you connect to, the type of lines used to connect you, the lack of maintenance on those lines and exchanges, also depends drastically on the ISP you use, and what haedware they uses and how many gateways and bandwith they got to the www....

Raz is right - Deity does have some connection issues which relate to where he lives. I know this because it is sometimes quicker to send an icq message to the States or Europe than to where Deity lives.

Yup, Ken Thur is the master of slow, lol. But it's hard comparing deity to Hydey, Deity can build a large civ which takes more time managing

Yes Kenthur/Milo....man he was slow....probably why no one would continue games with him...... its a shame he left....... probably because he ran out of people to play

that all said.....its a real pain to play people who take 3-4 min a turn in the early game......i know moving units around takes time but any micro should be done between turns.... and moving workers around to deliver caravans should be :banned:

i never move my workers.... if i lose a few gold each time..... oh well

I strongly suspect that is the kind of stuff Deity does. He gave the game away a bit in an earlier post when he mentioned re-routing caras. The game tells you if the city no longer accepts the goods but Deity wrote something that suggests he actually checks and re-checks his caras and their destinations en route.

my understanding is SmartFart quit becuase it was simul turns not because his turns take too long.....

i play Smart quite a bit and he isnt' anywhere near as slow as you Deity

You got it wrong! (as usual)

I was specifically told that Smartfart's turns were taking WAY too long and it was proposed, as a result of his deity-like behaviour, to move to simul turns!

Smartfart said he wouldn't play simul SO he left the game.....

I was told the game was about to be mutinied by all the other players IF it didn't go simul.

I like Smartfart, I'm gonna start a SLOWPOKES game!
