A new Unique Unit to be featured will be the Ark of the Covenant that contains the Laws given to Moses by God on Mount Sinai. They were stored in a custom made 'container' that also protected them from being stolen. It was later taken to Abbysinia for safety during the tumultous years that followed. Said to still be in Ethiopia.

Downloaded a number of scenarios with high hopes...
Charlemagne
Merchant of Venice
Holy Roman Empire
Conquest of Gaul
AtaTurk
...only to be 'dissapointed'.
For Charlemagne, a larger map is needed, concentrating on western Europe, only northern Spain would need to be included.
Events telling you of relations with the Roman Empire ('byzantium') to add political flavour. Some of the Units, like the armoured cavalryman that decorates the border belong to the 14th century not the 8th century. And some are too fantastic (i.e. fantasy).
Otherwise a good subject worth making a scenario about that should go through a remake.
Merchant of Venice gave the impresion of being a well planned scenario set in the Adriatic/Italian region with perhaps a bit of the Balkans included. It turned out to have to much emphasis on other countries and not alot of territory for the Republic to found on such as the upper Adriatic. Some cities of the Roman Empire were misplaced such as Sevastia. Alexius Comnenus was around after the battle of Manzikert yet the scenario has the Empire with pre-Manzikert frontiers. This should be remade.
Holy Roman Empire, nice map that focuses on the areas of conflict, perhaps too many German states, one could have been swapped for Hungary. Nice Events, some units slighty ahead of their time. I'd ike to have seen more teran development in the western Rhineland to represent the established towns their from the Roman era.
Otherwise nice indeed.
Conquest of Gaul got me hoping that I could leave my own Ceasars conquest of Gaul project and go on to others.
It turned out I may have to do it. This version I downloaded did not have any emphasis on Gaul itself. Grahically it needs updating in a major way.
Ataturk was also of the same genre, suprisingly it was made by a Turk, yet the map was awful and A LOT of towns and cities were missing. The first event tells you of an uprising in Yozgat yet there is no Yozgat to be found east of Ankara, many of the cities are wrongly placed geographically and wrongly named to boot.
It is meant to be 1919 yet anachronistically it has western Armenia (he would never call it that!) being under soviet rule when in fact the Soviets did not turn up for another few years and were not antagonistic towards Ataturk, rather they divided up Armenia between themselves. He could have swapped the soviets for the Armenians under General Antranik and also added a 7th civ such as Bulgaria.
It should be totally remade as it has a nice intro wave.

unfortunitly Stefan Härtel is correct. Masis is gone for good!
He deleted everything regarding civ2. I talked to him through email and its truce.
Maybe someone could take a shot at this scenario idea. It sounds very good.

Masis:
Your idea is original and really good!
And I'm agree with you about Conquest of Gaul (no comment... ), Charlemagne and Merchant of Venice.
Civ2 is a game where history hasn't to force the players, but history (an graphic art...) must be respected a bit, too, especially if the scenarios are called 'historical', isn't it?
I have a "Caesar's Gaul Conquest" project too (only map and something else done), but I have left it for a (big) while...
For Charlemagne (a real "father of the Europe" whe know nowadays), well I have some ideas to make a good historical scenario, too. But for now, only projects...
However, have a good job! (as your past scenarios)
