I'll take Spartans. As for the map, I'd say at least standard size with average for everything else.

Just a suggestion. Maybe we should cut it off at 4 players, so we don't have to wait so much between turns or worry as much about players dropping out.

Right. All map settings are average but for the size, which is huge. If anyone has a problem with this, it's still early enough to change it; otherwise we can continue with this save.

Yeah, I was wondering if we could change it to large map, cuz huge will take forever to play, especially over email.

Oh yeah, and it would also be more convenient if you edited the first message so that we have a list of the player turns in order, along with their emails.

I see the entire map, can create units at will, can control other factions' units, and modify the map through the terrain editor. However, when I go into the SCENARIO submenu it says the scenario editor is OFF. Only by toggling off the omniscient view and several other settings can I play without seeing everything and viewing readouts on other factions I would need probe infiltration to normally see. But those settings should never have been allowed me to begin with, and are always ON by default whenever I start.
However, when I create a new PBEM game, save it, and reload, it runs flawlessly. Saved games only seem to act strangely (the former save--the one with the huge mapsize--presented the same problems) after having come from kingofsnake's computer, which leads to this question: Are you all using the 4.0 version?

I read about this bug on some other thread. I think it has to do with whether or not the creator of the game gets the first move or not. maybe you should ask that in a new thread to see if you need to go first to avoid the problem.

Just set the map to large, with average settings for everything else; and standard rules.
