	No More Pink Squares, Permanent! Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

I already posted this twice it 2 threads but here I go again, just in case someone missed it...

This is the solution to the pink-square problem that's been driving me nuts ever since I started tweaking SMAC. The zipped file contains a pallette which can be used in both SMAC and SMAX but the background colour must always be pink, the last colour on the palette. In AX, this means that the ugly dark blueish colour must be changed to pink (which is easy). In AX this also means that if you put a factions colour to be pink, the flags would be colourless, so PICK ANOTHER COLOUR!

I hope this helps to everyone, unless of course someone (or even worse, ALL) found the solution to this ...

Cybergod,

You need to stick around the Creation forums as I continue to refer graphics questions to you. Hopefully when/if we/I finish the mod-makers manual, we won't have to answer 'pink' questions that much anymore.

BTW...sign up to write the graphics chapter in the Mod-manual thread before I have to draft you!

Gad not fungus! (As much as I hate that stuff, I can't find the solution ) I mean that when you start messing with the pcx files (the actual graphic of the game/factions). You cut/copy/paste a bit here and there, colour this, change that, and when you are done and "sent" the graphics in the game, and there is a pink square surrounding the bases of the factions you modified! I was offering a solution to the problem. If you STILL do not understand what pink colour I'm talking about, open up... gaians.pcx file for example! See the pink background? That's what I'm talking about!


If you got it now, then:

WELL DONE! , you've done it! Now go ahead with editing the faction files to your hearts contents! You might also like to try networknode.org for some great custom factions (featuring moi in one!).

oh, i get what ur talking about.

as for the fungus, there is a way to change their graphics, which looks like someone spilled some kind of them medicine, and said: "Hey! there it is! we can use this for fungus!" you can change them to like green or something.

yeah, there's a pcx file in alpha centauri called "texture.pcx" and it contains lots of terrain graphics. mess around with that. and good luck.

yea, i tried it, and tried to change the fungus look darkisk green...looks better, but still needs a little work.,
