Saul thumps his fists together.
How did they do it? Everyone thinks they are our b1tch but they are surpassing our production levels and have many less units to support. AND they keep sending their damn caravans and making a ton of Science and Trade. I'm getting crapped off now. Just send that Uranium freight from Kalgoorlie to Beijing and see what it returns. If it's pitiful we ban ALL trade from Foreign civs. As we all know it's the quality of the receiving city that generates the benefits...
Hmmm, but I must not be too hasty. They are long time friends...
BUT they showed their TRUE colours when we wanted Atomic Theory. After gifting them techs for eons they wanted TWO techs in return for AT. They should have gifted it, as true frinds would have. WE would have. They did mend their ways soon after that and gifted us GW.
But now they are the second biggest civ in the world with the biggest production base, no conflicts, and riding on our cashflow and techs.
Take it easy.... we need friends.... Those Zulus got it so wrong. Fancy thinking we were in bed with them...
---
Saul was muttering this late one night.
And with Paul so ill he felt the weight of the world on his shoulders.
Saul was historically a peaceful man but his wife's visions and all the current wrangling was bugging him.
I aint shifting those peacekeepers. Bugger them. Next thing they'll all be crying out for a stabilising force. But must not upset WAAR too much.
Don't care about the EU...
Or the Zulus, or the Mali....
UAS are good friends still.
Ahh, nice to have fanciful private thoughts... I'm going to test out those Zulus. They are the first threat, then Mali and EU are a joke.
The rest are currently friendlyish...
But friends aside, in real terms the Zulus and China are the big dangers.
Then WAAR and UAS.
Oh the pressure, the pressure... I wonder how the Medici of old would have handled this era with our nation?
WE battled them but Oh dear they fought like true fighters like we've never seen since... That was touch and go in the Central American area way back then and really, they were right. We had planned on building a city in Sicily and their bravery and courage and intuitive skills saved them. A lesser leader would have been fooled. An airbase in Europe is just what we need now.....
mumble mumble .........

The new President Gough Whiteman sat patiently on the stage. Before him was gathered over 20,000 of his fellow country men and women. The people who had voted him in to his current position. He looked up to the left of the stage, there was the portraits of all the past leaders of Israel/FDP/WAAR. Yes, large shoes he had to fill following some of them. The members of the High council, the nations chief source of wisdom, were all giving speeches. After they were finished h ewould get his chance. The High Council members were a heredity position and although they at times had power, the President was now the bearer of the ultimate power. He knew one of his main roles was to fill the position of High Council Chief. As Presidnet he had the power to remove all the High Council, but it was the only continous line of leadership throughout his nations history. Even when the Dicatators of Adolf hitler and Rabbi Rasputin took over, the high Council continued to exist. And now they were giving him the power to rule. This had been his ambition since joining the Labour party. To get a working class man elected. His policies would see the liberation from tyranny of the working man. The nation may be free of tyranny after Democratic elections were held, but ill corporations were made to deal fairly with its workers, the people would not be truly free.
He smiled as he looked to the dais and saw that the High council Diploamtic Advisor was finalyl concluding her speech. She had spoken of establishing embassys with all other nations and rebuilding our tarnished reputation. President Whiteman knew that the dreams of this young woman were not going to come to pass. Perhaps , though he thought, sh emight make some of his dreams come true!
Finally she finished speaking and the crowd cheered. Benjamin Disraeli rose and started to introduce the President. He went on about Gough's working class background and his rise to leader of the Labour Party. He turned to the PResident and called for th epeople to welcoem their new President.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, President Whiteman."
Loud cheers and applause.
The President strode confidently to the dias and waved to the crowd. Slowly they settled down and he waited for quiet.
"My fellow Western Asians and Americans. I am proud to stand here beofre you as your President. We have come so far from th ehumble beginnings afforded to our nation. From a few Jews crowded together in Jerusalem to the huge nation we are now. I dont think anyojne would have predicted we would be in the top 3 of most of the worlds demographics. We have the past leaders of our nation to thank for that." He slowly turned and pointed to the portarits around the stage. "Give these people a clap now, they deserve it"
A standing ovation was given for the past leaders.
"Thankyou for that. Without the tough decisions made by many of these people we would not be here today. And from their solid foundations we now need to grow more. We need to make sure the wealth of our nation is spread to all, not jsut the few. With more money in the workers pockets, the workers will feel rewarded and productivity will increase. My aim for the term of my office is that this nation will increase productiviy from Number 2 to Number 1 in the world. We will also increase total production to number 3. We will raise the per capita income to number 1. Population will increase to number 2. Whilst achieving this we are going to get our total pollution make down to 0. This will be hard to do, but I beleive it is achievable. We will all need to pull together to achieve all this. Including in my aims is my desire for world peace. I desire that no nation during my stay in office would feel the need to take to arms. But due to the very nature of mankind we wont allow our guard to fall, and we will maintain a well trained and modernised military. To protect our frontiers some new Forts will be built and our main priority will be the upgrading of our airforce.
I thankyou all again for the resposibilty you have given me and hope I can live up to your high expectations"
The crowd erupted into massive cheering and applause. The new President smiled and waved, he knew he had a huge task ahead but felt the team he had selected were fully capable.

<img src=/forums/"http:/members.aol.com/lbpslacker/francoship.jpg">
Admiral Francisco Franco walked along the deck of the EUS Metternich, the largest European Battleship created to patrol the Mediterranean, the government had already ordered the constrution of four more similar models.
He walked towards the captain's chamber past a large line of Sailors and Marines who were stationed on the ship in the Valencian harbor. The press was present, thus he had to make at least one show for the civilians, he approached a random Marine...
The Marine standing at attention listened as Admiral Franco asked "What is your name, rank and corps?"
"Otto Herzog, Private, European Marine Corps. Sir!" he barked immedeately.
"And tell me Private Herzog, what country are you from?" asked the Admiral.
"I am an Englishman sir, but I am of German stock." he replied quickly and clearly.
"Private Herzog, why have you joined the Marine Corps?" Franco inquired.
"To destroy the evil yellow Asian devil that-" he was quickly interrupted as Franco grabbed him by the throat.
"Turn that thing off now!" Franco barked at the camera man as to MPs grabbed the camera. He then let go of the private's throat as the private, as quickly as he could, went back to attention. "Are you a f*cking idiot?" Franco asked "Who is your CO?"
"Seargent Herzog Sir!" the private replied.
"Herzog, isn't your name Herzog?"
"Yes sir it is sir. However so it the Seargent's." the private replied, straining not to look his Admiral in the eye.
A bulky looking man, obviously a German (although he was Austrian, which is quite similar) lumbered his way towards the Admiral, he quickly stopped and saluted. "Admiral Franco Sir, I apologize, recruit number 33 is an embarassment to our Corps and our entire military sir."
Franco burned a hole through the Seargent with his eyes, he was quite angry, not only would the press eat this up as an unorganized military but also as a racist military, something Franco (being a Jew) did not want to occur. "And Herzog here is recruit number 33?"
"Yes sir." replied Seargent Herzog "The little sh*t doesn't deserve to share my name."
"Hmm, you aren't related are you?"
"No si-" private Herzog attempted to say.
"Shut your mouth 33!" yelled Seargent Herzog, the Admiral wasn't speaking to you. "No sir, we are not related at all, if I was related to this poor excuse for a soldier I'd have shot myself sir."
"Suicidal tendencies are a sign of weakness." replied the Admiral.
"It was a joke sir." replied the Seargent.
"And it wasn't very funny. Now head immedeately to my office and wait for me, I have to decide what to do with you about this. Go." the Seargent saluted and quickly headed towards the Captain's chambers. "NOW!" said Franco, speaking to the Marines. "Since Private Otto Herzog over here has decided that he wants to be a hate mongering comedian everyone gets to have some fun!" He approached another Marine. "What is your name son?"
"Marcelo" he replied.
"Is that your first name or your last name private?" asked Franco.
"That is my last name sir, my first name is Juan sir." he replied.
"Alright Juan Marcelo everyone. Juan, tell me, do you like to go swimming?" Franco aske.
"Si-" said the Private.
"Si? Si? Have you forgotten we speak French here in the European military, so would you mind saying that again Juan?" asked Franco.
"Yes sir, yes I like to swim. It is very hot in my native Spain sir." he replied.
"I know that, I am too a Spaniard, if you'd pay attention in camp you'd know that, you'd learn something about your commanders. Now Juan, guess what you and every other Marine here gets to do because Mr. Herzog over here thinks he's funny?"
"We get to go swimming sir?" he asked.
"Well, looks like Juan over here has a head on his shoulders. Alright every single one of you jarheads strip to your undershorts and swim back to the harbor, leave your undershorts on the docks and swim back, then swim all the way back and put them back on. At which point you will again swim back. That is a total of four laps between the ship and the dock. Alright begin NOW!" barked the Admiral. The Marines quickly rushed to pull their clothing off, it was in the middle of January and while the swim wasn't that far away it seemed so due to the cold water. Granted it was Spain and the Mediterranean, the water was still cold. The bustling harbor of Valencia also added embarassment to the marines as they would have to disrobe their undershorts and leave them at the docks. Franco just laughed to himself, remembering when he was just a petty 'swabbie' back in the old Adriatic Navy.
"Well sir, we're ten minutes late." said Captain DeFarge.
"Okay, turn the camera back on. Let's go..." sad Franco as they made their way towards the Captain's chambers.

The Presidential election is nearing for all voters in the Union of Asian States. After his victory over President Ozzy Khan in the last election President Chris has decided not to run for a second term which opens this election up for many challengers. The past terms of Presidents Ozzy Khan and Chris have brought increased prosperity to the nation but there has been moderate contraversy over UAS' relations with foreign nations.
With the close election of Labor party leader Gough Whiteman in WAAR there has been much speculation that this may affect the voter's mood in Mongolia. Only time will tell. On tonight's program we will provide breif profiles of all the candidate's for office and how they responded to our brief candidate survey.
Girish Sant- Green Party
Mr. Sant began his career in environmental policy working for the Delhi based organization, Prayas. Prayas (Initiatives in Health, Energy, Learning and Parenthood) is a non-governmental, non-profit, public charitable trust registered in India. After many years focusing on energy use and resource management Sant's career diverted to Politics where in 1596 he was elected to Delhi city council and finally worked his way up to Governor of the Delhi province.
Sant is campaigning on the issues of cleaning up UAS, opposing nuclear power and providing available healthcare and social services to the population.
Zainal Rampak- Labor Party
Mr. Rampak, a longtime agitator for worker's rights has come to national promenance as the President of the Malaysian Trade Union Congress. Initially started as a local Singapore factory workers union the MTUC has grown to include all of South-East asia with Union branches in much of India and China. Rampak organized the successful strike of '89 which despite the Saigon riot succeeded in securing a 45 hour work week for as SE asian workers. He also organized the '04 work slowdown in all China, India, and SE Asia where he first acheived national attention.
While no true political experience the Labor Party has chosen Rampak to be their front runner due to his good name recognition. Rampak's issues include a national minimum wage, increased factory production to bring jobs, and many public work programs to ensure all workers have a job who want one.
Bogd Khaan- Conservative Party
After 3 decades of service as Conservative party Senator from N. Mongolia Khaan has won his parties' nomination for President. Khaan is from one of Mongolia's old ruling families that long ago adapted to the UAS Democracy. Khaan is independently wealthy from his families' inexhaustible nestegg and his party switch has generated him much attention. His candiacy is strongly supported also by the Asian Unity Party which has declined to run a candidate and endorse Khaan. His critics are many however, many fearful of the Asian Unity Party's agenda and possible warmongering after years of peace in the region.
Khaan has always been a vocal supporter of Conservative President Dangime's war against the EU, and has been critical of the recent peace agreement that has returned "foreigners to Asian soil." The AUP has historically supported any means necessary for the unification of Asia under a common banner and have enjoyed a surprizing upsurge of support in recent years.
Natsagiin Bagabandi- Liberal Party
Natsagiin Bagabandi served as Vice-President in the last administration and supports a continuation of President Ozzy Khan and President Chris' policies. Vice-President Bagabandi is originally from W. Mongolia but has lived most of his life in the nation's capitol in Central Mongolia. Bagabandi's father was the highly respected Western Mongolian Senator for many years before his retirement. Bagabandi has had a life of politics and is well connected. Considered the virtual incumbant Bagabandi will be tough to beat, but with much opposition to many of President Chris' international policies and private indesgressions he is not with out his weaknesses.
Bagabandi is telling the nation to stay the course and continue the policies of his Liberal Party forerunners. He supports strong foreign aid and assistance for long time Israel allies and a closening of ties with Australlia. Bagabandi proposes to continue with strong domestic growth and international involvement.
Wei Fengsi Khan- Asian Sunrise Party
Wei FK as he is affectionatly called by his supporters is a maverick candidate supporting the nation's technological interests. A popular science fiction writer and chief fellow at Kashmir's University of Technology and Science. Originally from Shanghi Wei FK has done much for the growth in UAS' scientific knowledge over the past few years. His research team were the key developers of rocketry and are now working on nuclear power. At a speech given to Western Mongolia University Wei FK has pledged to be on the moon by the end of the decade.
Wei FK has made his intentions for space exploration and technological development clear saying, "Progress is man's only lasting goal on this planet. To leave this planet will demonstrate this progress to all mankind"
Wang Dan- Libertarian Party
Dan is an elliquent speaker for the cause of Asian Liberty. Dan has mobilized many diverse interests in UAS in support of the previously marginalized Libertarian Party. As Party Chair Dan has built the party into a force to be reconed with in Asia. With Dan's nomination this may be the first Presidential election in Libertarian history they have a chance at a decent showing. Wang Dan has spread the message of freedom to all parts of UAS and increased significantly his party's seats in the Mongolian Congress.
Dan supports individual freedom both personally and economically. Dan also calls for an end to all international aid and overseas "meddling" calling for complete neutrality and the canceling of all alliances. Dan also supports dramaticly reducing taxes and cutting the size of the UAS government.
After we return from our break candidate surveys will be made available for all to hear.

All candidates were asked to briefly answer the following questions important to the Union of Asian States.
1. How do you feel about the brewing situation in Turkey?
Sant- I really have no clear feelings on the issue. The EU did purge central Turkey of that environmentally hazardous fortress, but the matter isn’t clear for me.
Rampak- the impoverished European citizens are victims of international capitalism and Israeli warmongering.
Khaan- the dirty Europeans have trampled on the lives of Asian citizens for the last time. They have abused the Israelis and in our peace deal their indiscretions have deeply offended Mongolia. I will not rule out direct military action.
Bagabandi- Israel have been our historic allies, I support them in whatever course of action they deem necessary.
Wei FK- I am very pleased to hear WAAR gifted the poor Europeans needed technology. Only through open technology exchange will we succeed as a people.
Dan- our nation’s interventionist policies precipitated this conflict. Let other nations settle their own problems; UAS should never get involved.
2. What are your thoughts on the International Nuclear Test Ban treaty?
Sant- I support it fully and unconditionally. Nuclear weapons are a treat to this planet and all who live on it.
Rampak- I support it, nuclear weapons are used by the rich and kill the poor.
Khaan- UAS should not tie its hands with treaties that will weaken and disarm her.
Bagabandi- Liberal Party President Ozzy Khan drafted that treaty and I support our party’s efforts for world peace.
Wei FK- I feel this treaty limits genuine scientific discovery and exploration.
Dan- I am undecided whether we should pursue nuclear weapons but I am sure than any international treaty such as this is an infringement on sovereignty and should be repealed.
3. There has been talk of a space race between Australia and the world, what are your thoughts?
Sant- Humans don’t deserve to enter a new environment when they are still destroying this one.
Rampak- Increased developments in space will be good for jobs, I suggest UAS takes a lead role.
Khaan- Such an endeavor will show the world the might and ingenuity of Asia. The Australians are undeserving of such an achievement.
Bagabandi- We had no plans to go into space and I continue to support that. As for what other nations do, I am undecided as to our approach.
Wei FK- I have pledged to land on the moon by the end of the decade. Politics should not constrain the boundless intelligence of human striving.
Dan- Taxpayer money should not be flushed down the black hole of space.
4. What are your thoughts on Mongolian alliances?
Sant- The Europeans have a fully agrarian society and we support their efforts for a cleaner, healthier environment. I support discussion between our two nations I think we have much to learn.
Rampak- The Zulu Nation is a true worker’s paradise. They have proved to the world that communism is a real possibility; I support switching our alliances from WAAR to the Zulus.
Khaan- WAAR and China are nations of half-Asian mulattos but still better than the other nations. I support closer ties to China and WAAR for the good of all Asia.
Bagabandi- We have had historically close ties to WAAR and Australia, it would be foolish to turn our backs on our friends.
Wei FK- I suggest universal alliances set up for technology sharing for the good of all humanity.
Dan- Entangling alliances only lead to war, total neutrality is the only option.
5. How will you manage our currently strong economy?
Sant- our current progress is not sustainable. Our land is being destroyed to meet the demands of the world. I support increased environmental regulations on all industry.
Rampak- many say our economy is strong but to our millions of unemployed this is a myth. Only through full employment will our nation be whole. I support increased public works programs and increased industry for jobs.
Khaan- our Asian neighbors dominate the world in production; it is only suitable for the beacon of pure Asian culture to excel above all.
Bagabandi- our economy has grown strong under the leadership of our last two presidents; I support continuing our progress.
Wei FK- politicians are always draining the research budget for their pork projects and other building projects. It is clear that any long term vision for a nation’s health needs a strong commitment to scientific development.
Dan- our economy is strong in spite of not because of the government. Reducing taxes, deregulating industry and allowing the free market to succeed will improve the lives of all our citizens.
6. How do you feel on trade? More specifically, the Zulu agreement?
Sant- I support fair and open trade to benefit the entire world. We do need to use trade as a tool to reward good stewards of the environment and punish those who would ruin our planet.
Rampak- We are being swept up in the drumbeat of globalization; Asian jobs are going overseas to the poor nations of Mali and EU where workers labor in unsafe sweatshops. Pressure must be put on all nations to enact fair labor practices. I support trade only with nation’s who treat their workers with utmost fairness as the Zulu do.
Khaan- From what I am aware the agreement calls for the gifting of the Tibetan province, this is outrageous. Our nation should not carve itself up for Africans or Europeans or anyone else. Trade is a good thing but not at the expense of rightful Asian land.
Bagabandi- I am proud of the agreement worked out between President Ozzy Khan and Comrade Shakeem. This deal with benefit both our nations.
Wei FK- I really have to look into the matter more.
Dan- I support full and free trade. Commerce is the life blood of our planet, no government should restrict its flow in any way.
7. Please speak briefly on any one topic.
Sant- our people have neglected the environment for too long. UAS is one of the world’s top polluters. I support restoration of native environments, a restriction on heavy industry, a permanent commitment against nuclear power and strict pollution controls to save our needy planet.
Rampak- I will usher in massive road building projects also I will help our nation’s food production by subsidizing all Asian farmers. Production is important so factory construction will increase as will worker protections.
Khaan- I am ashamed of our cowardly retreat from Europe. The peace treaty we signed was foolish and I will seek more beneficial terms if elected. Also I will do all in my power to secure more land in Asia for our proud people.
Bagabandi- we have had much prosperity of late it would be foolish to change horses midstream. I will continue all the policies that have brought us this far.
Wei FK- Space is the final frontier. We cannot deny our people the promise of fulfilled knowledge.
Dan- I propose permanent neutrality of UAS and the disarming of our bloated military. Peacetime standing armies are only good for the oppression of the people.

1625AD – Broken Hill, Presidents hospital quarters.
Saul: “So you got me to sink the ship Einstein was on, then we rescue him, lots of lives are lost, and you brought him to Broken Hill…”
Saul knew even back then that he’d been fooled
Paul: “Well look at our shipping movements. Our research has brought such great benefits.”
Saul: “It is true what the EU says. Your plan to build a city on Sicily precipitated The Great War. The Aussies, hiding behind its pretence of peace, was actually provoking the Adriatics.”
Paul: “Shutup Saul – I’m too sick to put up with your crap.”
Saul: “You mean radiation sickness!”
Paul: “Oh, there is so much in history you do not know. You failed to use the Dame to your advantage.”
Saul: “I know what’s been going on. Moreover, I know you sleep with her. All her pathetic little trips to Broken Hill to check on your ‘nuclear tests’ … more like your ‘nuclear testicles’ ….”
Paul: “He he... Very funny Saul”
Saul: “And I know about Medici and how you both set up the Acadamy and then backstabbed him. What an insidious plan. You send a trireme into the Med knowing he will attack and knowing he had an undefended city in the Caribbean…. And if he didn’t attack you get your city in Sicily anyway. You think that’s smart?? Well, the whole world is wising up to you. And you think you can use me as your foil?”
Paul: “I don’t care. You have outlived your usefulness anyway.”
Saul: “Just like Manning? You sorted him out, eh? And here I’ve been, a man of peace being used by you, fooling the world with our peaceful overtures. What you going to do?”
Paul: “Go away.”
Saul: “You may not make it you know.”

"Its amazing to think that this used to be the centre of all goverment decisions. And soon when the refurbishment is complete we wil ahve returned full circle, with the Senate moving back in here."said the proud engineer to the group of visitors including President Whiteman. "You can see many of the original artifacts have been found and are being returned to the rooms they came from " he continued. "We also have discivered many of the old Secret Meeting rooms, they were hidden by secret doors and in some cases the secret rooms were still full of the original furniture."
The PResident dropped off the back of the group with the director of the Mossad, Deborah Michell. They headed off to the west wing as the engineer continued his tour. Deborah gave a quick look around and when no one was looking pressed a button hidden between bookcases and one bookcase swung round and reavealed a secret room. The two entered and the bookcase slid shut again. Deborah walked across the room and pulled a small radio transmitter, she pressed a few buttons on that and this time part of the floor swung up revealing a staircase.
"Very clever Deb." The President Smiled.
"A hidden room in a hidden room. That idiotic engineer out there thinks he knows everything"
They descended the stairs and arrived in a well lit hallway. Deborah led the President down past many offices all inhabited with secret agents of the Mossad, theycontinued on to Deborahs office.
"I never knew this palce existed " said the President.
"It is just one of many such buildings we use, this of course is the oldest as this was the firsbuilding evre built ."
"so what is so secret you brought me down here?"
"Mr PResident we have received reports that Madam Sarah Ben-Judah has been organsisng meetings with peron or persons unknown"
"Madam Sarah? But she died years ago!!"
"No sir that was simply a statement handed out by the Mossad to protect her, she had many trying to kill her."
"You hid this from the President too?"
"Yes Mr President we had to. It was at the request of Madam Sarah herself."
"But you work for the President!!"
"No sir , I work for the WAAR!! What ever is in the best interests of the WAAR is performed by the Mossad."
"Well I never, the arrogance."
"Mr President, you need to understand, Madam Sarah is the last direct link to the Great Razs, her offspring had to protected."
"What is the Great Raz to do with all this?"
"sir, he is the legendary hero that brought us out of mediocri, the Weak Dimbleby clan had left us in. The Sun Tzu dynasty left us tarnished as traitors."
"I know all our history Debroah. What is this to do with today?"
"Well the Raz dynasty has continued unknown to its enemies for centuries. What most people dont know is where the Great Raz originally came from."
"he came from here didnt he?"
"No sir, he was an Australain! His ancestors emmigrated there during the reign of the Weak Dimblebys. Unforutnalty most of that clan is now dead. "
"An Australain you say. That is incredible"
"Yes sir but there is more. You see not only did the great Raz come fro mthere, but another of his distant relatives went on to become the wife of one of the leading men in Austalia."
"You dont mean that old hag!!"
"Sir with respect , I prefer to cal lher Dame de Notre."
"Wow, she is so old."
"Yes the air in Australia seems to lead to long life sir, that and the amount of beer they consume"
"So what is this to do with today?"
"Just letting you know the relationships sir, Madam Sarah has the legal right to claim the Royal Throne in Israel. We know that she is probalby too old for that, so her offspring would take that role."
"But we dont have a Royal Throne in Israel. We are a democracy"
"Sir the PResident is duly elected by the people, but the Royal throne does exist and it is here in this palace. We beleive Madam Sarah Ben-Judah is using her conncetions to restablish the Royal Family on the throne."
"She wants to remove me ??"
"We beleive that may be her plan sir"
"And you people have known this and have been protecting her? This is outragous!!"
"We didnt know of her plans sir until recentlly. Now that we suspect them, we have come to you with the information."
"Does she have the support to do this?"
"We are not sure sir, the Great Raz dyansty is a well respected one in Israel it carries much weight, but the new colonies in America only know of Democracy they wouldnt follow we dont think. That is why we beleive when the Freedom fighters removed the old despots and Madam Sarah took over she didnt reinstate the Monarchy as she knew she didnt have support of the Americas, the Aerican colonies were firmly behind President Roberto Auldinsky as he was the leader of the american Rebels. With him gone and a new leader in government , she may feel the Americans wont be interested."
"Wel lbring her in Deborah we need to speak."
"I thoguht you would say that, we have detained her sir, we tryed interviewing her , but she said she will only speak to you"
"Wel lbring her in"
Deborah pressed a communication link on her desk and an agent appeared at the door, behind him stood Madam Sarah Ben-Judah. She looked very hagged and was being supported by two more agnts.
They led her into the room and sat her down and left. She turned to the PResidnet and smiled " So we meet at last Gough."
"Yes Madam, what is this I hear of you and secret meetings and a plot to overthrow me."
"You have it all worng my boy, I am completely happy for you to run the Nation, my plans involve other things."
"I think it is time you fessed up Madam"
"Yes you are right it is time..."
Madam Sarah went on to expose her plans and the information she had, at the end of over two hours including many questions from PResident Whiteman and Deborah Michell she finished and nodded off to sleep.
The President left the room deep in thought as he eventually arrived back in his office he was troubled, if this was all true he needed to prepare the nation. But first the military , he had to get them ready.......

Foreign Minister Kaliid surveyed the construction going on on the outskirts of the Fort Lusaka compound. "Good, good I can see the construction is nearing completion." Kaliid said to the head foreman of the project.
"Yes sir, we will be finished very shortly and preparing the city for the UAS arrival. Most of the citizens here have already left to move into the cities of Zimbabwe and Malaw, some to the coastal city of Cape Town. The Marines that stand watch will soon be able to return to their families, for the project is nearly complete." said the foreman.
"Excellent work Lokari, the project is going very smoothly as planned then?" asked Kaliid.
"Indeed. So Kaliid, how is the construction going in Tibet? Will the UAS be prepared to make the exchange after we finish the project?" asked Lokari.
"They are ready now my friend. Seems the Mongol engineers and builders are a little more efficient than your crew eh?" Kaliid was poking fun at Lokari.
"Ha ha, yes, you could see it that way. But you have to remember man, we are working on a very limited budget. As soon as the government attains a surplus, the money is immediately spent. And un-fortunately, this extra money has been poured into factories and mining ventures, military and infastructure, and certainly none of it has come our way. If we were to receive a sizable enough grant, we could finish within the year!" Lokari knew his friend Kaliid was joking, but this low blow still aroused a strong call to defense.
"Well my old friend, I will be talking to Shakeem later this week. I will see what I can do to get some money set aside for you and your crew. This project needs to be completed as soon as humanly possible, for this deal will not go through with the Mongols until then." Kaliid said seriously.
"Very well Kallid. So do you feel this will boost our sagging import and export business? And can we really trust the Mongols?" asked Lokari.
"I am almost certain this exchange will jumpstart our weak economy. Rumor has it that Uranium has been found in South America and we aim to trade it as soon as it can be mined. This should bring about a huge profit. And do not worry about the trust issue Lokari. General Shakeem has taken care of that........Well, it was good seeing you Lokari. I must now catch a train to Port Nolloth. I will be checking in later next week. Farewell." said Kaliid as he turned to leave.
"Farewell my friend." said Lokari as he nodded.

The door swung open violently as Admiral Franco made his way in affixing his hat to his head. He seemed angry. Captain DeFarge followed closely behind, he seemed somewhat angered but not nearly as much as Franco, who slammed a briefcase on the table in the Captain's chamber, oblivious to who was in the room.
"God Damn it!" he barked "Whoever is in charge of hiring these Seargents should begin looking for a new occupation. These troops are undisciplined!" he said, pulling out a pack of cigarettes.
"Hello Franky." said President Alessi.
"Oh, Madame President. I had no clue you'd be here." he said, nearly dropping his cigarettes.
"No need for pleasantries Franky, I'm here because well, its important that I be here. We've recieved a lot of new information about the Turkish situation as well as some statements from the Asians." she said, sifting through a file folder.
Franco lit his cigarette "Well Adriana, this was supposed to be a meeting for the route of the EUS Metternich, you know I have a meeting with some MPs in Dublin in two days."
"This shouldn't take long." she said, Captain DeFarge sat down after pouring himself some coffee.
"Alright, well let's get down to business. Currently, and very shamefully this battleship will constitute our entire Navy. Parliament has given us funds to produce four more ships of its kind, which would create a small yet potent naval force. Obviously it would have to be used primarily for domestic defense of our waterways, the ships just aren't fast enough for anything else. The fleet will also be too small for any complex operations either. Therefore we need cruisers and some submarines would be nice, but that's nothing necessary at this time anyway." said Captain DeFarge as the Admiral and President listened.
"And the other ships, they are all being produced in the north?" asked the Admiral.
"Correct, we'll probably have one in the Mediterranean and the rest will be in the north seas and probably the Bay of Biscay as well, its the window to Europe." the Captain replied.
"How long will the others take?" asked the President.
"Quite a while, unless more funds are given towards the effort. But we understand that the government has some prior financial engagements." he answered.
"Why that is, is totally beyond me." said Franco, puffing on his cigarette.
"Because Franky, its time to make ammends. We can't just run around doing things and not take responsability." Alessi responded.
"You didn't do anything though, our government didn't do anything though. We're paying the price for dissent, we're paying the price for animals of Israeli and Mongolian imperialism, we didn't harbor these people. And you-" Franco was interrupted.
"This is not the time for this discussion." the President said strongly.
"I'm simply saying, we don't even have the money for our own nation, and we are already in debt almost one thousand gold pounds, its insanity!" he said. "You DO realize that elections are coming up too. The people don't like this, the Hawks are going to make a run for it."
"Franky, what'd I just say? End it, this is not the time nor the place." she said "Okay, Captain DeFarge, continue."
"Well, according to the Air Force we'll also need airbases to accompany these ships as far as a civil defense system goes. We already have a few fighters in the Uralsky area, but they were being relocated at the time due to the Turkish situation, I doubt that's going to continue." he said.
"So, basically we'll have boats to our west and jet fighters to our east?" she asked.
"Yes, its simple geographic strategy." he replied.
"This includes major cuts to our ground forces by the way." said Franco.
"Obviously so, but what can we do about it? Raise taxes?" she replied.
"Well we can start by erasing a grand in debt." he said.
"And how would I do that?" she asked.
"Just erase it! Why pay these nations? All three of them have treated us like sh*t, excuse my English, and further two of them continue to perpetuate hostilities with rhetoric and troop placement. Why you've agreed to pay them is ridiculous." he barked.
"Mongolia has taken the most garbage from us, its only 80 gold." Alessi responded.
"What of Israel and Mali? That's going to cost upwards of 900 gold you know." he responded.
"Franky, the conversation is over. How do I get out of here so I don't have to deal with the press?" she asked...

Entering the prison was like a warm hand engulfing his body, it was cold outside and the snow was unrelenting. Leon Trotsky approached the guard at the desk in the quiet dark prison, rubbing his hands together to whipe the cold from his knuckles. "Hello sir, my name is Leon Trotsky I am a member of the Associated Press." The guard simply looked at him, "Um, yes, I am here to interview one of your prisoners, I called this in around two weeks ago you should have-"
"You're here to interview Vlady?" the guard asked.
"Vlady? Um, yes Vladimir Illich Lenin." Trotsky responded.
"Alright" said the Guard as he got up, giving a sigh, he had been sitting there for hours. "Follow me, oh yeah, leave you're sh*t here."
"I have to bring a tape recorder and this-" Trotsky began, he was quickly interrupted.
"Yeah yeah, you can bring that, leave that bag there though." the guard said as Trotsky tossed his duffelbag next to the guard's desk.
The long corridor was dark, there was obviously prisoners in the cells due to the sounds of coughing and sighs, it smelled horrible. The ground was wet and while it seemed very warm to a man who had just driven through the north Russian snowfall, it was cold and dank. Finally they arrived at a cell, there was a short bald man sitting here over a book reading, his brow and jaw portruded strongly giving him an heir of divinity and strength.
"Yo Vlady!" said the guard, the prisoner turned to him.
"Yes?" the prisoner replied.
"You've got a guest." he said as he unlocked the cell and pulled it open, he them fumbled for a pair of handcuffs "C'mon buddy, gimme your hand." the guard said, the prisoner quickly obeyed as the guard cuffed him to the cell bars. "Alright fruitcake, you've got fifteen minutes." he said to Trotsky as he left the cell.
Trotsky reluctantly entered as the guard slammed the cell shut and locked it. "Hello Mr. Lenin, I am Leon Trotsky, I am with the Bosporus Bugel. We're running a story about your case, I've personally noticed a few mistakes the government had made and a lot of-"
"Please sit down Mr. Trotsky." the prisoner said.
Trotsky sat down on the bed, it seemed uncomfortable "Well, anyway I am here to interview you on what occured that day, I was under the impression that your lawyer would be here?"
"No, I don't want a lawyer, I know the law well enough." Lenin replied.
"Okay, do you mind if I record this?" he asked.
"No, that's fine..." said Lenin.
"Alright, here we go" Trotsky said as he pushed the record button, a small click and an almost unnoticeable buzz let them know it was working "I am Leon Trotsky here with convicted murderer Vladimir Lenin, he is being charged with conspiracy for the murder of President Winston Churchill."
Without seeming to notice Trotsky at all Lenin said "Leon, tell me, do you know of Dialectic Determinism?...."

Mushaq Jerokam and his band of rebels were dug in deep within the thick and steamy African jungle. They had been building a stronghold here for the past 3 years. Yaounde officials were aware of their presence, but had chosen not to inform the government.
This band of radicals, known as Aamar had been growing in strength and numbers over the last decade and were almost universally supported in northern Africa. Many Mali were present at the camp as well. The group had quietly amassed support at almost every level of the government and were poised to make a valid run as leaders of the Zulu Nation.
General Shakeem and the communists had done the country well and had improved things greatly, but they lacked vision. Jerokam and his followers knew the country needed new leadership, and it needed it soon. A meeting between the two leaders would be arranged in Cameroon in February.
Jerokam was convinced that he could persuade Shakeem to join into a new order of government in which they could work together, with Jerokam running the country and Shakeem running his military. He feared what would happen if Shakeem and his council were to resist, but as in every great endeavor, sacrifice is always necessary and blood must sometimes be spilt.
As Jerokam ate his zebra steak in the makeshift dining room of the Aamar compound, a man wearing a turban and a scarf over his face entered the room.
Jerokam looked up.
"Ahh, Kaliid, it is good to see you my friend. Come, sit, have some wine and zebra."

"Mr President this is ridiculous, the Australains are a peaceful nation , they would never resort to this type of activity." yelled Air Marsholl Wilbur Wright over the noise of construction form inside the hangar. "The WAAR have always ahd to stand on our own too feet."
"Yes I know Wilbur, but I hav eit on good authority that things are changing. If the Aussies do as I think they will , we need to be ready, we cant be caught napping at this time." said the President
"Sir with all due respect, I dont think we should take the word of some old bat from Australai, they cut us off centuries ago and havent aided us since, I know they sent peacekeepers to Turkey but that wa sfor their own advantqage."
"We al lknow that Wilbur, but if they do move agaisnt the Zulu then we know the Zulu will retaliate agsint all of its enemies us included, I jsut want us ready to defend what is ours."
"sir as you can see, the third squadron of Air Defence is almost ready for action, We should be able to patrol most of the WAAR nation by century end. The late President has got most provinces into cmmercial activity, he stood down most of our aircaraft building industry."
"Yes I know Wilbur, thqat is why this secret location is building the Squadrons. With the activity in Israel being a good diversion. Just get these birds up in the air as soon as possible."
"Yes sir"

Admiral Franco had been racked lately with pointless paperwork and appearances, this was probably going to be his last for a while and though that should have given him comfort it was more frustrating that he had to take a trip to Ireland. It was cold and rainy and the isle had been the seat of some internal dissent lately from the Irish Republican Army. Rumors flooded the political world than more than one of its MPs were members of its revolutionay faction, which seemed to support Australia and its motives.
Ireland's capital building was very modest, simple industrial looking brick office building with the EU and Irish flags hanging above its doorway, which was adorned with golden harps; the nation's symbol. Franco and his entourage approached the doorway as the press huddled around the enterance to take photographs, the European press must've been the mos dogged in this manner Franco thought.
"Good evening Admiral?" said a man in a thick Irish accent, he extended his hand, Franco quickly nodded and shook it "I'm Sean Leary, Mr. Collins' chief of staff, I'll show you the way sir." he said as he opened the door.
The inside of the building is much different than one would expect if they had only seen the front, the floors were covered in marble with forest green carpeting down its center. The walls were very tall and creme colored with marble pillars every few feet. There were pictures of Ireland's MPs and important people down the hallways with random office doors and flags. "Right this way Admiral." said Leary as they entered a room marked 'Legislative Conference Room 12.'
The room had four people in it, three males and a female. They were Diedra Drummond, Mark Lannon, Shamus Shamrock and Michael Collins. All were members of the Hawk party, Franco was a Dove. "Welcome to Dublin Admiral." said Collins smiling "I hope your trip was pleasant."
"The weather wasn't too great." said Franco bluntly "But you have a wonderful countryside here."
"Aye, that's true. Come now, have a seat." Collins said, Franco slowly slid into his chair. "Admiral Franco, you were called here for a very important meeting, it has nothing to do with what you recieved on your memo." Collins began.
Franco seemed puzzled "Well, with all due respect Mr. Collins that isn't very professional of you."
"I understand that, but I also know that if I would have told you then what I am about to tell you now, you may not have come and that wouldn't be very beneficial to us at all. And as you shall soon see, it may not have been very beneficial to you either." Collins replied.
"Well, let's get this over with." Franco said looking at his watch. "Do you mind if I smoke a cigarette?"
"By all means Admiral." Collins said, Franco then pulled out a golden cigarette case "Now then, as you know the Dove party has dominated European politics since the days of Napoleon Bonaparte. And ever since Napoleon's Presidency our country has been thrown into a hole that it has yet to climb out of."
Franco shot in quickly "Listen, Mr. Collins, I respect you and your party, truthfully they may be the only ones with any realistic policies, but the Dove party has not only been good to me and my career, but also has policies that I think would be great if they ever got off their collective asses and worked towards them."
"Admiral, you know damn well the only reason your people are elected is because of their affiliation with Bonaparte and his Republicans. They've got this stupid aura of patriotism about them when half the fockers only got there by relation to their daddies." Collins said with a stern look.
"Well, that's quite the statement Mr. Collins." Franco said.
"Case in point" Collins continued "Take our President Adriana Alessi, you know I served under her in Russia?"
"No I did not."
"Oh yeah, I was drafted in Eurokorps; against my will obviously, yet another great idea from the peaceloving Doves." Collins said.
"Hey, that was necessary. We needed men to stave off the Israelis and Mongolians." Franco retorted.
"Yeah yeah yeah, your own party saw to it that Pagniacci lost power, so don't feed me those lines. I know you guys didn't agree with it either." Collins said "Anyway, I was there in Russia on the front lines with a rifle and a platoon, I lost most of the platoon save two guys. We had no idea where we were supposed to be because we lost our communiction device. After weeks and weeks of wandering around Uralsky we finally arrived in Savona, or maybe Orsoni, I don't even remember. Afterwards I get a dishonorable discharge for disobeying orders from the wonderful Corporal DeNucci, who through a combination of murdering SunTzu and porking our lovely President achieved that rank, and oh yeah, his affiliation to the Doves and the Republican movement via his family tree had something to do with it too." (CHECK OUT SOME OLD POSTS TO READ COLLINS STORY, WOW!)
"That's a wonderful story Mr. Collins but what-" Franco was again interrupted.
"I'm not finished, so I storm into Alessi's office who was merely a one star General at the time and demand some answers. I get pulled out of there by some Military Police and was beaten and then sent to prison. Luckily my fellow Irish hate this whole government or else I wouldn't be here right now representing it, I'd be in the country farming potatoes or drinking beer right now. The point, Admiral, is that the entire system is out of touch. How can these people lead our nation?" Collins asked.
"That was different, it was under the provisional government under Pagniacci and Metternich, things were done because they had to be done, that's just how it worked." Franco replied.
"C'mon, the party is ridiculous. Right now they're taxing the people to hell, and for what? To pay Mali, Israel and Mongolia for things that shouldn't be our business? We should put those resources into technology, trade, military, infrasructure or public works. Something, anything, useful." Collins said, Franco totally agreed with him on that, but didn't say anything. "How are we ever going to rise up if we act like servants to these countries?"
"Well you do have a point there, but its not that simple. The international community and its senstivities must be taken into consideration, especially given our current state of affairs." was Franco's response.
"What!?!" Collins exclaimed "You know full well that's an automated response, I know that you don't like what the party is doing now, you're only in it for your status. I've seen our military; the few soldiers we do have are undisciplined dunkards, they are stoners who don't take orders. They couldn't defeat anyone if they tried their hardest. The Hawk party sees this, and it sickens us. It sickens us that the Dove party uses its connections to Bonaparte when its policies have strayed so far from the original Republican movement that to even compare them is a joke. The Hawk party doesn't have leadership though-" Collins said, Franco interrupted.
"Well, why don't you run?"
"I can't do that! I'm Irish, nobody's going to vote for me in Europe. My people will be disgusted if I were to do that. What we need is someone like you, your own beliefs are the same as those of the Hawk party. Its only natural Admiral, you can't hide behind your family tree all your life." Collins said.
"Well Mr. Collins, nobody can say you don't carry yourself very well in conversation, you are a very stubborn and blatant individual. But you do make sense, and you have a few points. Sadly my life is in the armed forces, I can't become a politician over night." Franco said.
"Admiral, you've already ran for office. You can do it again." he responded.
"That was against Charles DeGaulle, if I lost to DeGaulle what makes you think I could beat Alessi, not that I intend on running that is." Franco said.
"Just think about it Admiral, I know you are busy so I am going to end it now, I'll have my people contact you every now and again. But in the meantime stay in touch, and really think about it." Collins said...

Prometheus
|
|
The meeting began routinely enough; the cabinet had sat down promptly, members grabbed their drinks and prepared to go over briefings, intelligence, and current domestic and intelligence affairs.
Prometheus took no time getting to the point:
“Our intelligence has shown us that the top planers in the Aussie government regard us in the top two threats to Aussie national security…”
After letting the point linger there for a moment the cabinet broke into chuckles and all were smiling.
“I am not joking, apparently the Aussies really do view us as a threat, friendship aside of coarse… what is the words they use, o yes… Bloody Dangerous… that’s what one of there top officials was quoted as saying.”
The smiles had all turned to very confused looks.
“Well that’s what we get I suppose after all in less than a hundred years we have more than quadrupled our population, and our production has surpassed the aussies by, well we really we don’t know how much. They might be getting a little paranoid about us… we all know how paranoid they are; unfortunately that’s not the disturbing news. The leader of Australia at this time is uncertain, intelligence is leading us to believe that there is a power struggle going on with in the higher ups of the democracy. Paul might be dying and Saul is not in his graces any more. So I want our foreign office to approach the Aussies cautiously for the time being it’s new territory and we want to maintain our friendly relationships with them.
Also there might be some tension in upcoming years as in the next hundred years we expect to pass the thirty million mark and surpass our current standing in production, not to mention there are reports of Uranium showing up, our trade makes them nervous also.”
The cabinet discussed the Aussie situation for another half an’ hour speculating and planning the future Aussi policy before heading to the Mongolian Briefing.
“As we all know the Mongol’s are currently in the process of electing a new president… while our official stance is that our willingness to work with any candidate, we are unofficially supporting the Green Party, not to win mind you but if the Legislative part of the Mongolian government wants to accomplish anything they will need the green parties support and therefore moderating any government in power. But in any case we expect good relations with them as our oldest friends.”
“However there are rumors of a city swap with the Zulu’s, so while we have good relations with the Zulu government, we will need to step up diplomatic contacts with the Zulu and make sure that we are on friendly terms with them also. This is extremely important as the city they will be gaining is in the Tibet Provence, and with in cruise missile range of Beijing.”
“The Mali, ah, silent on our diplomatic front, they were pushed close to the Zulu after the last war… we will maintain our good relations with them, if they have had any complaints they sure have not made them known, but truly to far away for them to be bothered with us.”
“Now we come to the E.U., as you know there public statements caused quite a stir among our population. In fact Chinese Glory has had a 25% increase in membership after that statement making our majority in congress very slim. If they continue to gain members they could form a coalition with the Chinese Popular Front and force us out of office. We need to do or say something that reinstalls pride in the Chinese public and make them realize that China stand up for itself. The problem with this is that whatever we do it will worsen relations with the E.U., but damage control I believe can be successful if handled properly. As you know we have tried to influence the public to take pity on the E.U. publishing the apology has had some effect but the people are still mad about our lack of response. These packets will outline our plan; I will leave it to everyone to handle their department’s assignments. “
“Finally we come to WAAR, other than drafting our congratulations to their president all we have to do is respond to their pollution statement, I suggest mentioning Environmentalism.”
“What shall we have it say sir…. “You are invited to marvel at our glories discovery of environmentalism, no scribes allowed?”
“Funny, no just normal political language will do just fine, mention our help in the past with this problem. Our relations look good so no need to do any major work.”
To: President Gough Whiteman
From: President Prometheus
On behalf of the Chinese people we wish to congratulate you on your victory. I listened to your inauguration speech with great interest and can assure you that the Chinese people will give you a run for your money but welcome the challenge to our productivity. If you ever need a break from the grind of politics the beaches of the China will welcome you. I wish you the best of luck during your term.
To: World
From: Chinese Foreign Office
As the greatest producer (2550 tons) of pollution in the world, we cannot help but take some blame in the rising pollution levels however we also have done more than most nations to combat pollution, already in China we have started to recycle and have an army of engineers standing by to clean any pollution we do produce. For the world we shared the technology of recycling with every nation on the earth. Currently we have no polluted land and we shall in the next year discover environmentalism which according to our scientists is a clean source of energy and actually will slow the rate of global warming, we already have plans to equip a number of our cities with these plants which will help the entire world.
