Netscape hates BMPs. Dunno about others...

Try to use PNG format, it works fine.

PS NICE JOB

PNGs are a lossless compression format that supports full-colour and paletted images. It also has alpha transparency that works in Opera and Mozilla but not IE.

Yes. I have in mind a scenario of the Roman Civil War starting with the formation of the 1st Triumverate. There would be 7 playable civs: Caesar, Pompey, Crassus, the Senate (Cicero), the Gauls (Vercingetorix), the Egyptians (Cleopatra), and the Parthians (Orodes).

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

I haven't done too much research just yet, as I'm still finishing up my WWII scenario, Global War.

For the Romans, legionaries, auxiliaries (archers, slingers, cavalry). Anything else? There's good artillery and seige graphics already available. I'm intending to use the same units for all 4 Roman factions, but each army in it's own colour.

Gauls and Celts, infantry, horsemen and chariots. Parthians, heavy cavalry, horse archers and infantry. Egyptians, haven't got a clue. Did they still have chariots? Also some sort of oriental infantry and cavalry for minor powers like the Armenians.

Thanks for this!

Egyptians= Ptolemies (Cleopatra etc.), hmm. Have a look at the http://wwwdbaol.com armies section. I think that the Ptolemies still used scythed charriots, as did the Seleucids. Other units include armored Elephants with boxes on top, late Hellenistic Phalanx, downgraded Companion cavalry, native skirmishers and lots of mercenaries (Libyans, Nubians, Gauls you name it). Plus ultra heavy monster decimeres+. Btw, I have some units to post myself,

You get a link when you attach a BMP file, for some reason. That pic you tried to show was a GIF which should show up just right if you attach it.

my source for the celts was 'Rome's enemies: Gallic and British celts' which shows a Belgic archer, 1st cent. BC to 1st cent. AD - probably slings were more commonplace, though.

BTW, Prometeus, do you have anything on late Ptolomaic armies?

This book is a must:

Michael Grant, "from Alexander to Cleopatra". RCS editors, here in Italy.

A brief explain of a Ptolemaic army composition and history is available here:

http://www.fanaticus.org/DBA/armies/dba42ab.html

Plus, a lot of interesting links on this webpage, including one about the ptolemaic dinasty.

Another good one is available here:

Hey tanerlon i have already made a scenario about 1821. I will attach in a few days. My Egyptians have the wrong graphics too. I have found pictures though but i lack a scanner to post them. The Kolokotronis graphic looks good. Your graphics admitedly are better than mine.

I posted the wrong image! The French is a lancier, the horse is Arne's. The British is Arne's too, but I repainted him as Th. Kolokotronis, the old man of morea. The mounted Greek is G.Karaiskakis, the finest general of the Roumeliotes faction won the civil war that was going on among the Greeks, in the same time. Only the greek partisans are trully mine. The credit for most of the other units belongs to other people. I feel really bad! Sorry guys.

I know that once before I had posted that any new or different units were welcome but I have a smal request for fairline. I would like to see what he could do as far as late 19th century french, british, german, and mexican units. Just out of curiosity.
