I haven't done too much research just yet, as I'm still finishing up my WWII scenario, Global War.
For the Romans, legionaries, auxiliaries (archers, slingers, cavalry). Anything else? There's good artillery and seige graphics already available. I'm intending to use the same units for all 4 Roman factions, but each army in it's own colour.
Gauls and Celts, infantry, horsemen and chariots. Parthians, heavy cavalry, horse archers and infantry. Egyptians, haven't got a clue. Did they still have chariots? Also some sort of oriental infantry and cavalry for minor powers like the Armenians.
Thanks for this!

This book is a must:
Michael Grant, "from Alexander to Cleopatra". RCS editors, here in Italy.
A brief explain of a Ptolemaic army composition and history is available here:
http://www.fanaticus.org/DBA/armies/dba42ab.html
Plus, a lot of interesting links on this webpage, including one about the ptolemaic dinasty.
Another good one is available here:
