Prediction for Next Week's Civ Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

My bet is India. It seems that Firaxis use a chronological order for their weekly Civs. Babylonians(sumerians) was dated back almost 4000BC, Egyptians 3000BC, Greeks(with inclusion of Minoans) 2000BC, Chinese 1800BC. Indian civilization appeared around the same time as Chinese so they should be next.

Well, seeing how the Greeks were last week, I don't think they'll pop up again .

My bet is probably the Persians... though Indians being next wouldn't suprise me. Dark horse = Zulus.

What if the civ of the week is completely random? Maybe Firaxis is just drawing a civ from a hat?

But then there would be a chance of modern units being released to the general public. And it appears that Firaxis is not revealing anything about that yet. Maybe a week or two before release or maybe just keeping it a secret for the actual release. Either way I don't think they would allow the chance of releasing info about the modern age such as what numbers are going to go along with the U.S. F-15.

Of course is difficult to say: traditional date of Rome city founding is 753 B.C. but you can go back a bit, still inside the X century B.C.

Put an end to popups!

It depends on definition.

Persia --> Elam and Media around about 1700 B.C., Persia itself at closer to 850-600 B.C.

India --> Indus River Valley (2000), quite early, then Indo-European/Aryans (Persians) invade, Persian influence in art, still primitive until about 300 B.C., after Greek invasion, Mauryan Empire

Rome --> Etruscans around 1000 B.C., but not really Roman, Rome founded in 750 B.C., Roman Republic around 400 B.C., Roman Empire starts 14 B.C.

It will be one of these three, but it's anybody's guess. I'm hoping for Persia; we STILL haven't seen the leader or unit!

Speaking of which, is this our Bismarck (German)?

Well if it goes by UU we still could see Aztecs soon.

But I would have to say it is going to be either the Japanese or Romans next. (With the Indians in the waiting depending on what Indian empire they pick).

I'm thinking: (Nation and Golden Age [approximate])

6. India or Rome 100 B.C.. or 100 A.D.
7. Rome or India 100 A.D. or 100 B.C.
8. Germany 1200 A.D.
9. Japan 1350 A.D.
10. Britain 1500 A.D.
11. France 1500 A.D.
12. Aztec Empire or Russia 1500 A.D. or 1700 A.D.
13. Russia or Aztec Empire 1700 A.D. or 1500 A.D.
14. Iroquois 1700 A.D.
15. America 1800 A.D.
16. Zululand 1880 A.D.

It all depends - starting dates vs. dynasties. For one thing, Xerxes was before Alexander, yet the Greeks came first because of their Classical period in the 700s and 600s BC. (Persia's high was in the 400s).

Perhaps it is by Golden Age.

If it goes by the Golden Age, I would choose the following:

Romans, 100BC - 200AD
Indians, about the same time.
Germany, either 1100-1200AD or 1871-1914
France, either around 800AD(Charlemagne) or 1600-1700(Louis XIV)
Britain, 1600-1900 (The Empire)
Russia, 1700-1900 (Romanov Dynasty)
Japan, around 1600(Tokugawa, Hideyoshi)
Iroquois, around 1700
America, after 1945

You forgot the Zulus. Their time should be either 1790s and 1800s for the famous leader Shaka, or 1870s and 1880s for the real golden age and Anglo-Zulu Wars under Cetewayo.

Otherwise, I agree with you. (though the 800 A.D. Charlemagne thing could go for Germany too)

And it will be a toss up between India and Rome.

Ashoka or Augustus, huh.

Alexander and Transcend appear to be right on the money with this week's prediction of the Indians.

So what about next week?

I think probably Romans. Japanese also coming soon.
