2 years ago I came here to Apolyton and posted my first post. Since then I have posted many many more and have enjoyed every one of them. From my "Who is the biggest ****ing moron" poll to all the threads on my cheating, all were incredibly amusing to me and many others. I'd like to begin by giving special thanks to some special people over the years.
Kaak, you have been the only true friend I have had on here. I've known you from nearly the first day I started playing on here and I still remember the days when you used to kick my ass. All the other people on here have been nothing more than acquaintances. You know my philosophy and you know why I call only you a friend.
Markus, even though I have never talked to you in real life before (which is the only way I will ever consider someone a friend on here), I consider you as close to a friend as any. You are one of the few people I don't consider a geek on here, and I look forward to playing civ3 with you.
Strategicking, for the past 2 years I have done nothing but belittle you and make fun of you. Some of our posts have been great entertainment for myself and others. Without you I'd probably still be a prince right now. You and I helped to keep Gameleague alive as it began to sputter towards the end. Without you I wouldn't have been able to enjoy the last year of civ for gameleague would surely have died much sooner. I hope we can maybe play on the same side when civ3 comes out.
Woke23, I have known you from nearly my first game ever played online. Second to be the exact. There was a time too when you used to beat me and in some ways I miss the days when I too was a newbie to MP. Things may not have worked out for you on civfanatics, but you helped to keep the spark alive in civ2's final days. I look forward to playing civ 3 with you as well.
Cavebear, I've had some very interesting conversations with you towards the end. Some of them I wasn't always honest on because I didn't want to completely give away the act. I also want to thank you for helping me with my term paper, it was greatly appreciated.
I would also like to take a moment to remember the members of the first Divine Tribe roster. Carnide, Jhorsburgh, Kaak, EyesOfNight, MagLogic, and John Barbarossa. We were the first tribe, and some of our games were the best I ever had and I will remember that.
Thanks to all those who were mentioned, the past 2 years have been great.
Well, you're probably wondering why I'm coming on here doing this. The truth is, as probably most of you have guessed, this has all been an act. When I first came here back 2 years ago I was still a nobody, overshadowed by kaak and John Barbarossa. Well, I just couldn't stand for that. hehehe I rightly deserved a chance in the spotlight, and I got it. Maybe not with the greatest reputation in town, but I really enjoyed playing the evil genius bent on total domination of the civworld. I have had many schemes among which I even schemed to destroy Apolyton through Thunderfall and his site civfanatics. It really was a great plan, maybe I'll tell it to you some day. hehehe The others you know about, the cheating, destroying tribes, just being evil. All were nothing more than big practical jokes for my own amusement and I think I can go so far as to say for everyone else's amusement. But as I told Ming, I can no longer do what I do on here. It is one thing to play a computer game (hard to believe but this is actually really the only computer game I've played on a regular basis besides AOE which lasted about 2 months), and it is another thing to post and act the way I do on here. I honestly am afraid of what might happen if someone found out what I do on here, it's really not normal. In real life I am not even close to what I am on here. And I can safely say that it would come as a real shocker if people found out how I act, let alone if they found out that I even play a computer game. So in light of all said, I think it is time to kill the act. I am going to assume a new name and begin to divulge many of the strategies I know of on the strategy forum. As for frivolous pursuits of amusement, those days are at an end. For those of you I pissed off over the years, I'm not sorry. If you take this game seriously enough to get mad, then you need to get a life.
So, to sum it all up, it's been fun, but all things come to an end and these are the final words in the book.

With each death, there is always a rebirth. That will happen in about 44 days.
And dont think for 1 minute, that I did not enjoy the battle of wits and posts and counter responses.
Every player in any sport or game needs an arch nemesis.
I pity everyonelse because they can never come close to having you lurking in the foreground. I would not be anywhere near the SUPER CIV GENIUS (sorry for old times sake) without you.
We will fight for civ 3 dominance soon.(And to see who has the bigger ego at that game and can come up with the coolest strategies and tricks)

If you are nice enough, I may invite you & some others to test drive Civ3 with me .. a month or so after it comes out. Of course... then again I might be too much of a "newbie" for you.

Too touching... Yes, the act is often more fun than the game itself, and it's a pity that few know what it is. It can only get better with the massive audience civ3 brings about.

I've only been around here a year or so, and play most of my games on the zone... but every post i read from Eyes has been entertaining. I for one would be sorry to lose ya. Hope to play you in Civ3, if i have an internet connection then...

Ok, some of you seem to think that this is some sappy farewell speech and that I'm crying you a river. First of all I didn't say goodbye to you, I said goodbye to my name, hence the title of this topic. Second, I didn't apologize to anyone. And I never said I was leaving, in fact I specifically stated that I would be posting on the strategy forum with a new name, this name. I never even said I wasn't playing anymore. All I said was that I was killing the act as EyesOfNIght. For those of you out there who need that clarified, that means I will no longer be posting as EyesOfNight, I will no longer act as EyesOfNIght in most cases. But I will be playing civ2 still and I will be posting on the strategy forum under this name. So stop with the "we'll miss you eyes" and the "see you soon eyes" because I'm not leaving and I'm not getting a new name for that purpose. And a note to some of you out there, you know who you are, don't bother trying to goad me into a flame war, it's not going to happen.

I already requested my eyes account to be deleted the night I made my new name. Thanks for the sarcasm though. And I'm not posting anymore except for a few replies on this and the strategies I write on the strategy forum. You're welcome to go read them, you might learn something. Nice talking to you, there is no need for you to respond on this thread anymore.

You can run, but you can't hide. I will be looking forward to your new persona .. Sean. I do hope that you expand your horizons .. somewhat. Starting treating your fellow players with the courtesy that they deserve..irregardless of their abilities... etc..etc. Slow down & start enjoying yourself. After all... it's only a game.

I always have enjoyed myself J.C., it's why I created the act in the first place. And it's not really a new persona, I'm just not going to be a **** anymore unless it's called for. As for my interaction with other players, I will keep that to a bare minimum. And trust me when I say I never lost sight of the fact that it was a game. Thanks for the advice though, even if it wasn't really called for.
And I'd appreciate it if you didn't call me by my real name. Kaak and Markus are the only ones allowed to do that. You don't know me therefore there is no need to call me by that name.
