Suffering from ads?

I think its safest to bet they are coming out in order of "first appearance" on earth. Its definately not coming out in relation to when the civilization's UU is around - we are yet to see the Zulu impi or the Roman legions, while the Chinese 'rider' is being shown. Not in the order of their real-life "golden age" either.

Well, someones got to point out the obvious, right??

Is it "earliest appearance" or "earliest imperial appearance"? If it's based on the first kingdoms that could be said to be "the kingdom/empire that is that civ" rather than just "that is part of that culture". What I mean is, which Indian empire can be said to be THE Indian Empire? To my mind, nothing earlier than the mediaeval Moghul empire. Before then they were indian empires, but not THE indian empire. Both orders work with what we have so far. Based on that order, IMO:

Persia
Rome
France
Japan
England
Russia
Indians
Aztecs
Iroquois
Americans
Zulus
Germans

The Indians were pretty much unified under what I believe was a Buddhist monarchy around 200 BC, or thereabouts. Still I'd agree with you that the India that we think of typically didn't really exist until the Moghul Empire.

As a yank though, I'm offended that the US is listed as 1600-today. Every American knows that the great republic has always existed, and in fact is the only thing that does exist, so it should be listed as "Big Bang-today."

Full PM-box? Change here!

Also the Zulu impis probably didn't exist until rather recently, unless by order you mean game order. In real life the Zulus were only rather recent inhabitants of southern Africa when the Boers and British colonized.
