Will you buy Civ 3 initial release without Multi-player capability? (Time out:0 days after 08-09-2001, 10:48)

How will availability of MP affect your decision on buying Civ 3? Support Apolyton, buy GURPS/ Alpha Centauri

Upon reading the rumor that MP is not available for Civ 3 initially,
I am wondering if I will buy it immediately. Although I rarely play multi-player Civ 3, I don't like to get MP only as a paid add-on.

Non-hardcore players for turn-based strategy, in my opinion, does not value MP highly. If the Firaxis' views are the same as mine in this aspect, then they will probably release a paid-addon for MP. This will probably allows higher stability (It's much harder to write robust codes which involves more than 1 computers) and higher revenue (Hardcore gamers will buy the MP add-on anyway if they think that the Civ 3 game system is good).

Yet I still like to let Firaxis know that I won't buy Civ 3 immediately if they don't promise free add-on for MP at a reasonable time.

How about you? Fellows?
