The Yamato-Class Battleship was to be used at mere field artillery. It only had enough fuel to get to an island (don't remember what) and ground itself.

How about all encompassing LOUSY CARTOONS?

Actually, Kamikaze's were very cost effective. The primary reason that the japanese used them was because they no longer had enoguh trained pilots, and they didn't have enough time to train more. Instead tehy gave their pilots a 3 month crash course and then shoved them in planes.

They were extremely difficult to shoot down, and they caused horrendous damage.

But I don't think they'd make a good special unit, any more than a suicide bomber would for another civilization. Its just not in good taste.
