	Community shmyunity!! Suffering from ads?

Markos, the Apolyton forum is not a good place for game threads (comparisons). Putting them with one of the game forums of the 2 games compared is a much better idea.

Apolyton forum is for:
1. technical issues
2. complaining about bans for OT members (now that you've browbeaten us into not doing it on the OT).
3. "Ras"ing up the post count a little. (Now that postcounts don't count in OT.

(I'm making comments in a light tone...but I really mean it. I thought you killed poor NC's thread.)

Please don't do a /close until we've had a little discussion. (OK?)

I agree with Navy.

The last two months have seen a lot of BS OT type polls and threads in this forum, as compared to the usual fun of razzing Mark about:

The site being slow
Faces of Apolyton
Money
Macedonia
People being banned, or PCRd

A lot of chicken-sh1t has been going on lately, like our Russian like pal putting up 1200+ posts in a little over a month!

Might as well restore the stupid PC to the OT, so we can back to fun things, like the fact Poly goes off-line at least twice a month!

However other threads don't, and belong in the OT Mark, or you risk giving Apolyton a split personality.

I think this also has to do with things regarding to the community and the site.

Smilies and such are good. So are threads like this. "Who ate my hamster" threads are not ok.

Also, threads promoting my soon debuting Apolyton Stands radio show are cool.

Yeah, they should put those threads in one the the appropriate game forums and put a link to it in the other thread (move it there and then move it again so you can follow the moved thread)

IMHO, this is a fine place for it, as long as more than one game in the comparison thread is of the Civ/CtP/SMAC suite.

It loses the audience that would be most interested in discussing it. and it loses cross-fertilization from the other game threads. Also, usually (as in NC's case) it is obvious which of the forums to put the thread in. For instance a thread talking about how SMAC went through changes during design and what that portends for Civ3...belongs in Civ3 General.
