AC is currently in New York. We trust and pray that she is safe, (but we knew her internet access was going to be somewhere between extremely limited and non-existent)

The other RP games will have no AI (but will have seven human players) I have e-mailed the dozen or so usual suspects to see who might be interested in filling up this game. Not sure if 3 humans role-playing to the hilt plus 4 AI would be that interesting a game (the presence of seven human players playing agendas and SE choices is its appeal)

Ah good, I was hoping a third game would get started. I'm interested and might rope in Kassiopeia as well. I enjoy roleplaying enough that I'd be glad to play any faction. If I had to load the dice I'd choose one I never played comptetitively, which brings it to Miriam or the Spartans.

Morgan, eh? Well, this should be interesting since I've never played Morgan before (there are a shocking number of factions I've never played...). I will have to repeat the mantra: GREED IS GOOD! Destroy-Rape-Pillage! (or is that pillage-rape-destroy?). I plan to out tech Zak, and have hybrid forests up before that tree hugging, fungus humping, clothes-challenged eco weenie Deirdre finds out what a recycling tank is.

The settings will be the same for all the RP games. I think the good Googlie highlighted those in the RP3 thread (this is RP4).

The only problem here is that you'll have to invest hunks of time to explaining if you want me in - but I am eager to learn... I have, read my lips, no experience on this stuff... Have played Baldur's Gate, but that is as far as it goes.
Does this in any way resemble Chiron Chronicles?

Actually, it is a bit like BG. Think of your faction as your character and your agenda as your alignment, and then superimpose the various quotes from datalinks for characteristics/history. Likewise, your ‘goal’ is to fulfill your agenda (SE) and defeat the SE that is in opposition to yours. So if you are Lal (LG paladin) and you meet the Hive (to you he might be a lawful evil ftr because of his agenda) what would you do? Give him a big hug? At the least you’d be distrustful, and you’d be much more inclined to want to stick your sword in the beating heart of your enemy (to quote Civ 2).

For background read Googlie’s synthesis in the RP3 thread. It lays out the rules, and the dos and don’ts.

EDIT: False alarm, all is fine, rules and stuff under careful examination.

What comes to my faction I'll wait for others to make their pick and then see what is left over.

It'll be SMAC v 4,0 (so download the v 4.0 patch from Apolyton if you haven't already done so)

I'll start a turn posting thread when I send out the first turn - it'll be to Kassiopeia, as the Gaians (K, when I e-mail you the turn I'll walk you through the PBEM procedure)
