I agree the 1 year rule should be reintroduced. Posting crap just to get a custom avatar seems hardly constructive and with the server load currently occuring due to the release of Civ3, spam is only going to make the situation worse.

Of course after reading this thread, I was reminded of the opening verse of the Queen song, Princes of the Universe.
