... And I want this game so much it almost physically hurts. The amount of drool-worthy stuff in that vid is incredible. It's much better than the E3 vid.

What I think says it most was that one of the programmers tells of the time he sent an email into head office around 5am saying "I think I was meant to check for memory leaks, but I'm kindof more worried about the Egyptians on my left flank."

If a guy who's been working on it for a year can do that, it looks good (or bad ) for the rest of us.

I think there's another thread on this board about it, and someone may have compressed it, I was a little fuzzy on the details. I picked it up from www.civfanatics.com/civ3videos.shtml (if not, just go to the home page and follow appropriate links). It is 35Mb though, so you need a fast connection or a lot of patience. I have the former

As mentioned earlier in this thread, Roman, on this site you can find seven links to sites with smilies. The only thing to do is to copy the address of the smiley(right click->choose properties->copy the address), and past it into your post with the insert image commando!

I do believe that someone (Firaxis, Infogames, ...) sees more profit in having people pre-order the Special Edition to Civ3 than have it available for free internet download.

It's more "Special" that way.

well, i dont know what your talking about, but i dont think the video was *SOOOO* great, as you guys were talking... the headlines were very cheesy, and it was too much talking and not enough demonstrationg (god forbid they do both at the same time... no.... you have to watch the programmers while they speak... I have become very friendly with SJ's turtle...

They would have to be crazy to prosecute anyone for downloading or putting the file up for others to download. Its the best promotional video they could ask for, and by putting it up, people are helping Firaxis promote Civ 3!!
