EXT. DOAK HALL ROOFTOP - DAY
BIG PIG drops, and the herd falters.
HDS
Kill them all! Let Hogfather sort them
out!
HDS spears a WINGED PIG with his UMBRELLA, spiking it to the rooftop. DEFIANT pick up two more winged pigs and smashes them together. SUPERMDR lands a haymaker and RUFFGUY throws another winged pig off the roof.
EL HOGFATHER floats into the air. BALLS of CRACKLING ENERGY form around his fists.
RUFFGUY
He's building up his power!
HDS
Down the escape ladder!
EL HOGFATHER
Die!
A dozen ENERGY BLASTS strike the roof, causing it to crumble in a shower of dust and concrete.
INT. UNDERGROUND CAVE (HAUS MANOR) - DAY
HDS, SUPERMDR, RUFFGUY, and DEFIANT hunch over a bank of COMPUTER MONITORS. DEFIANT takes a mechanical sip from an aluminum COCACOLA (tm) CAN.
HDS
This is where you work? What a
dump. You know it's named twice,
don't you?
RUFFGUY looks at HDS for a moment.
RUFFGUY
I've been tracking El Hogfather for
months. He's been growing steadily
in strength.
SUPERMDR
That's why it took the four of us to
handle him.
DEFIANT
He killed The House two weeks ago in
Denver.
SUPERMDR
That guy was a monster.
RUFFGUY
He's serious. He's trying to get a hold
of some top secret government project.
(beat)
Check this out.
The four lean into the computer monitor.
HDS
That bastard, I'll destroy him!
SUPERMDR
Do you think we can stop him?
RUFFGUY
If we get to this before he does.
Defiant crumples his Coke can.
DEFIANT
Groovy.
EXT. DOAK HALL - DAY
Several COP CARS and one GREY FORD cordon off the ruined building. An imposing figure in a BLACK SUIT towers over the police officers, in charge of the whole show. VICTOR, once a mild mannered CIA analyst, underwent a near fatal treatment of nuclear bombardment and gene therapy to become the government's top operative, G-MAN.
G-MAN
I want this place sealed tight. We need
to know exaclty what happened here.
Gather up the students.
OFFICER
Yes sir!
G-MAN
How many did the witnesses say were
here?
DEPUTY
Four, maybe five, sir.
G-MAN
We can't allow Rogue Supers to run
free. Let's go up to the roof.
EXT. DOAK HALL ROOFTOP - DAY
Bodies of FRIED WINGED PIGS litter what's left of the collasping roof. The POLICE and G-MAN survey the destruction.
G-MAN
El Hogfather was here. Who were
the others?
OFFICER
We don't know, yet, sir.
G-MAN
Get a forensics team up here.
The Officer begins climbing down the ladder as the unstable roof begins to collaspe. With super speed, G-MAN jumps off the roof and lands safely. The Officer falls.
EXT. DOAK HALL - DAY
G-MAN reaches up and GRABS the man with one hand, not even creasing his suit. He sets the police officer down.
G-MAN
Are you all right?
The officer leans up against the cracked wall and nods. G-MAN studies him for a moment.
G-MAN (CONT'D)
Take a break, kid.
G-MAN walks to his GREY FORD and sits inside. A MINI-LAPTOP pops open from the dash. G-MAN types in a few codes and pulls up the file for EL HOGFATHER.
COMPUTER SCREEN - LAST KNOWN GOAL: AQUISITION OF THE imp3 PROJECT.
G-MAN
Damn.
EXT. L.O.G. INDUSTRIES - DAY
A small PODIUM stands at the top of the steps REPORTERS CROWD around a DAPPER MAN in a TAN SUIT, the reporter's CAMERAS FLASHING. The man taps the MICROPHONE and gets feedback. The crowd chuckles.
LAWRENCE
Gentlemen, I'd like to make an announcement.
(beat)
In the coming months Lawrence Enterprises
Subsidiary L.O.G. INDUSTRIES will be releasing a
new software package that will provide better
stability and greater access to the Internet.
We're proud to introduce LOG OS '03.
The crowd shoves closer. Lawrence backs up and straightens his tie.
LAWRENCE
The announcement party is inside. I hope
you'll enjoy the refreshments.
Lawrence walks away from the crowd. A wiry man in a dark suit jogs up beside Lawrence and his quick strides.
LACKEY
Sir, we've managed to pass it through beta.
LAWRENCE
Good, with the imp3 project fully integrated
into LOG OS, I'll control the world's internet
connection, and the government doesn't even
know about it.
LACKEY
Here are the projections, sir.
Lawrence looks at the REPORTS handed to him.
LAWRENCE
Government Federal Cases be damned!
Lawrence laughs as he throws the Reports into the air.

INT. JAGUAR - NIGHT
HDS and DEFIANT cruise down the road.
HDS
Let me handle this.
DEFIANT
Sure.
HDS glares at the Cyborg.
HDS
I mean it.
Servos whir as Defiant tracks the coeds on the sidewalks. HDS shakes his head and continues driving.
EXT. PAWN SHOP - NIGHT
The JAGUAR pulls up in front of the store. A red CLOSED SIGN flickers in the dark window. HDS and DEFIANT climb out of the small car. Defiant looks around for a moment and nods to HDS. HDS leans up against the wall.
DEFIANT
How you getting in?
HDS smirks.
HDS
They don't call me His Divine
Shadow for nothing.
HDS FADES into the shadows and seeps through the wall.
INT. FRONT ROOM (PAWN SHOP) - NIGHT
HDS flows through the dark room, PASSING THROUGH the merchandise.
INT. BACK ROOM (PAWN SHOP) - NIGHT
HDS fades in at the edge of the single overhead light in the room, a slim man bends over a CARD TABLE, looking at COMPUTER PARTS through a magnifying glass.
HDS
Thief.
The slim man jumps.
MAN
(relieved)
Shadow, baby, you scared me
for a moment.
HDS
You're going to tell me what
I want to know.
MAN
Hey I know nothing. They
don't call me Scott Free for
nothing.
HDS grabs Scott's hand and phases it out. Before Scott can react HDS pushes Scott's hand into the machine.
HDS
Imagine what would happen if
I phased your hand back in.
Scott sweats under the single light.
HDS (CONT'D)
Now, you're going to tell me
what I want to know.
EXT. PAWN SHOP - NIGHT
DEFIANT smiles at a couple of COEDS.
DEFIANT
Hey, I know this cabin up
in the woods. Real nice
place.
HDS FADES through the wall, walking to the parked JAGUAR.
HDS
Come on.
DEFIANT
He talked.
HDS
We'll talk when we get back to
the house house.
HDS guns the engine and tears away from the pawn shop and the confused coeds. A GREY FORD pulls in.
INT. FRONT ROOM (PAWN SHOP) - NIGHT
SCOTT shuffles through the darkened room, rubbing his hand. He hears a mechanical WHINE and spins around. G-MAN stands in the door, aiming a SILVER GUN at Scott's head.
SCOTT
G-MAN.
INT. L.O.G. CAGES - NIGHT
LAWRENCE, now dressed as EL HOGFATHER stares at a COMPUTER SCREEN. LACKEY stands behind him, feeding the WINGED PIGS.
EL HOGFATHER
How many were recruited in the
beta?
LACKEY
Just over three million users,
sir.
EL HOGFATHER
Excellent! That many under my
control should start this.
LACKEY
What, sir? It's just a backdoor,
right?
EL HOGFATHER
Fool! imp3 connects to all versions
of itself. imp3 is more than just
some program. It's a doorway to
infinite worlds.
El Hogfather clicks on the program.
EL HOGFATHER
(laughing)
The world is mine! Infinite power!
To control this existance like a God!
El Hogfather continues to laugh. Lackey halfheartedly chuckles. El Hogfather stops laughing.
EL HOGFATHER
It didn't work.
El Hogfather picks up the SCREAMING Lackey and tosses him into the cages with the Winged Pigs. The Winged Pigs snort and begin a feeding frenzy.
EL HOGFATHER
It didn't work! Damn them all!
Damn them all to hell!
El Hogfather grabs the screen and picks it off the table, straining the cables. He looks at the screen for a moment.
EL HOGFATHER
It's not really a program.
(beat)
It's a person.
INT. JAGUAR - NIGHT
HDS and DEFIANT follow the road. The CARPHONE rings. HDS pushes a button on the dash.
RUFFGUY
You found out anything?
HDS
These are some nice wheels,
man. What's going to stop
me from just cruising down
to Austin with this baby?
RUFFGUY
A small bomb.
HDS grins over at Defiant.
HDS
Just kidding. You really want
to know over this phone.
The phone CLICKS several times.
RUFFGUY
The line's secure now.
HDS
Okay.
(beat)
imp3 is more than just a spy
program. They made a breakthrough
in its design. It started talking
to another copy of itself.
RUFFGUY
What's so special about that?
HDS
There are no other copies of itself.
This thing tapped into a parallel
dimension.
DEFIANT
That must take a lot of power.
HDS
Possibly several worlds' worth.
