Has anybody here tried a Civ2 pbem game, it doesn't have the same cool PBEM setup that ctp has. I would love to get into a game of that sometime.

I would love to, Don dude! I never played Civ2 pbem, but i did download an unofficial hotseat program which i attempted to play, most unsuccessfully. However, it did not include pbem, and i asuume that the only way to play pbem is to have the Civ2 gold edition. Unfortunately, i never bought it because it never sold at a reasonable price in Australia.
It's ****ing ridiculous that even after 5 years, you cannot buy Civ2 in Australia for an unexorbitant price It's far too old to pay more than a few clams for it, yet they treat it, and it's ancient graphics, like it went on the shelf just last week.
Anyway Don, why didn't you post your comments on the OT forum as per Mobius' link? Perhaps you did, but i didn't check

Hehe when I travel to canada the people is Quebec have a nickname for the currency. They call it the 'looney' because it can be so weak one month, and strong the next
Ya the one currency idea is probably impossible. But the Euro wasnt a bad idea. Did not know denmark voted no, england and some other countrys are still a question mark.
Our currency is real strong here. But nonetheless, we americans will complain about everything
bah speaking of Civ3!! its now official there will be no mp until spring/summer/fall of y2k2
BTW don, I think your country is a great place . Except Quebec of course...for some reason Quebec city is a dump compared to other places ive been Taranto, calgary, etc. Why dont you guys give them independence already so they wont be such a burden

Your religious rant is totally bogus. Religion has it's positive sides and its negative sides, but to take a very wide paint brush and paint religion like you did is wrong. Total crap, I say, Total crap.
Saddam
Thanks for your comments about Canada. I have never been to Quebec city so I can't agree or disagree. Btw.. everybody calls the 1$ coin a loony. Canadian sarcasm at work here.
Why would the Russians agree to that? What's the purpose in that. They also have had a increase in Criminal activity since communism fell.
Well get used to the Prisons Saddam, there will be more before there are less. Governments have to put the non-elite, dysfunctional, human trash, anti society, criminal types somewhere. Its easier to address the symptoms than it is the cause.
If I were the Brits or Irish I wouldn't expect a whole lot of help in the way of the IRA. Didn't Clinton get involved with this affair, what happened, did he make a difference? Some Americans want to help others in the world but even more Americans could care less and unless in it concerns Americans directly they don't want anything to do with it. In some ways I understand this attitude but in another way I find it elitist, selfish, and just plain dumb.
I know there is not much in the way of welfare, that is because some Americans very much believe in self-success. Everything is measured by how successful you are. Success in Career,Education,Job, House, Wife, Friends, Car etc etc. If you can't pull your own weight than you deserve nothing. You made your own bed you lie in it. I have a great life why should I give a damn about you. They don't take into consideration of human error, lack of brains, lack of education, geographical locations, Insecure Jobs or Economy etc etc.
Its amazing how much money Americans have, but its also interesting that in many areas in the States they have third world conditions. Lots of poor people in the States, but since they are kept on the other side of the tracks, or that part of town. Or even rural areas. They are mostly unseen by the better off Americans, who mainly don't want to see them. Its like this up here in Canada, especially Ontario. Allot of Yanks or the World say Canada is part of the States, well I agree, partly. Of all the very different areas in Canada, I would say Ontario is pretty much the same as the States. We have it all here, Poverty, Money galore, Industry, Tons of people, cars, pollution. We have a conservative(much like the bush bozos south of here) provincial government that couldn't care less about the poor. They want elite business types with oodles of money. As far as they are concerned the non-elite welfare or poor types can just go somewhere and die. It would save them allot of headaches. Its a very much the strong flourishes, the weak perish environment. Having said that though, just like the Americans there is an element of the Canadian population that have more compassion or empathy towards their fellow man.
