	Are the moderators here exaggerating a bit? Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations

I have a question to make.

I posted my two first threads today in OT and were both closed in 40 minutes.

I can understand the reason for closing the first one but I am not sure why the second had to be closed.

Is it forbitten asking about spamming or closing records?

I though that among several subjects in OT you can jerk around with questions like that. Is this forum a discussion for everything off (TBS) Topic or not?

As long as I don't flame, insult, swear or repeating a subject for no reason shouldn't I be free to post what ever I feel like?

Better make a thread of what is forbitten or not and top it.

And don't close it again without giving me a full explanation.

Keygen νομίζω ότι ο σλοουχαντ σε ρωτάει πως ξεκίνησες και τρίτο θέμα (thread) σήμερα (το όριο είναι δύο την ημέρα). Φαντάζομαι πως πέρασαν οι 24 ώρες...

Τωρα γι'αυτό που ρωτάς η αλήθεια είναι ότι και 'γω το βρήκα λιγάκι αδικαιολόγητο να σου κλείσουν αυτά τα δύο θέματα δεδομένου του γενικότερου χαμού που γίνεται εδώ μέσα καθημερινώς.

Πάντως αυτό που ξέρω στα σίγουρα είναι ότι εάν κάνεις ένα θέμα στο apolyton community μάλλον θα χρειατεί να σου απαντήσουν. Συνήθως τέτοια ερωτήματα περί κλεισίματος θεμάτων ή απαγόρευσης (ban) συζητούνται εκεί.

Ισως σου απαντήσουν και εδώ.

Οντως ήταν λιγάκι κουφό!

Δεν ήξερα ότι υπάρχει όριο στα θέματα που μπορείς να δημοσιεύσεις την μέρα. Μου φαίνεται λίγο γελοίο αλλά φαντάζομαι ότι είναι προστασία από αυτούς που ξεσκίζονται να δημιουργούν συνέχεια καινούργια θέματα.

Πάντος είναι γελοίο που έκλεισαν το δεύτερο θέμα.

The subjects I posted were stupid but not a reason to be closed maybe with the exeption of the first one.

Yes, stupid threads indeed but were subjects to be closed?
I don't want to make it a big deal but I am curious about what you can post in OT and what you cannot.
Is there any FAQ? If not would be possible to make one for the non-regular OT posters and the new ones?

My appologies Ming but if I was pain in the ass but you didn't answered to my question. I want an aswer primary from the OT moderators as they decide what to close and what they leave.

Those were all just spam fests and it appears this thread is heading for a similar feet.

But someone please look in the Civ 3 forum at the thread entitled "Finally..." It is the biggest on topic spamfest that I have ever seen continue for as long as it has.

tniem - It's dead, and the originator of it got a week vacation and 100% PCR. Yes, 100, not 10.

Some other megaspammers will be getting PCRs as well.

Keygen - a thread to complain about a thread being closed may be one thing (if it's an actual complaint, as opposed to a spamfest)

A thread that is basically "hey, I got a thread closed in 16 minutes, is that some kind of record" with a bunch of people posting crap in it is just game playing - like the 50 or so "what is your favorite color" threads people have done.

Well Kegan, even if they didn't close the first, I would have requested it.
Why?
I don't care to see my name in a poll, for one thing, for another, I already had a heated discussion with I guy who "hinted" I was a spammer based on PC.

The Posts per day talley does not reflect where you post.

I add atleast 5 posts per day in just the PBEM games I'm in (several), not to mention that I'm also a MP guy, into the scenario league, as well as commenting in the general area and other parts of the site, like the Spanish forum, the Civ-3 section, ect.

Bad form using posters names in polls, old boy.

It's up to the posters if a thread turns to spam fest and not to the one who posts the thread what ever his intentions are.

I opened PH's profile and got amazed by the amount of posts per day and got that idea of posting a poll regarding posts per day. A little curious and a little teasing I could say. Bad idea I guess.

But I will disagree with you regarding the second thread.
What's the problem posting a thread with that subject?
I see dozens of stupid threads weekly that I would never bother to view. Most of them are not getting closed and some of them are getting very long.

I think that the often spam threads being posted have maken the OT moderators very suspicious but I don't blame you with all these crap you have to read every day

BTW, I didn't know that there is a restriction on thread posting per day in OT.

Spam is a matter of opinion... it's that simple. We make the best decisions we can... and people will disagree. In most cases, when a thread is closed or deleted, somebody will whine about it.
