	Not exactly SMAC related... Support Apolyton, buy Alpha Centauri

When one wishes to have a custom avatar, I know the regulations are to have been registered for a year or to have over 500 posts, but is it whichever comes first or whichever comes last? I've been registered for over a year but haven't yet made even 300 posts (slow me).

Can I have a custom avatar and if so how do I do so?

I believe that the "one year"-part has been disabled now, so you need 500 posts. I'm not entirely sure why it was disabled, but I think it got purged when they updated the boards to the latest version of vbb.

It might be that they've activated it again, for all I know, and in that case, it should be whatever comes first, and you should be able to do it.

I made my custom avatar when I was still able to do so due to my long, faithful membership. I only recently hit the 500-mark.

500 posts in less then a year is quite possible. I have been a member for three months, and I have a post count of about 470.

You can change to a custom avatar by uploading the avatar picture to your account-related thingie at the avatar-selection screen, as soon as it's possible. You can have five avatars altogether in "store" at a time.

kass, I may have been registered for a year but for at least some of that period I was unable to use the boards due to my ISP going nipples-up.
