This challenge arose because . . . well mainly because knowhow2 and I thought another game might be fun and wanted to try a 2 player game for a change. The map size is standard with all settings in the middle and I believe we would play by "tournament rules" with respect to other settings, cheats and contact etc (let me know if you want anything different) . Knowhow2 chose the Hive and I decided to choose the Drones . Given these choices the "Industrial might challenge" seemed appropriate . The AI players are Gaians, Hive, University, PK and Spartans.
The map was set up with the Smax random map generator so we could end up next door to each other. . . Only time will tell.
So I say to the good chairman, lets play. . . Turn 2101 has been sent.

The Plot:
Foreman Flubber and Security Chief Knowhow2 use to best of friends and both, having Yang as a mentor, flourish under the Hive Ban the first few years after landing. Things between foreman Flubber and the Chairman suddenly made a nasty turn when foreman Flubber refused to nervestaple the uprising drones at the sector 7G which lead to the infuriation of the Chairman. Not withstanding the methods of the faction forman Flubber decides to flee togther with a small army of drones from sector 7G. The same night an assassination was staged against the Chairman. Although he survived he fell into a coma. The Security Chief knowhow2 takes the entire incident as a failure from his side. But since he was the natural successor of Chairman Yang all blame were to be postpone. Knowhow2 was from this moment commended the role as the acting Chairman of Hives with the mission to lurk out the evil minds behind the horrific assassination.

Turn will be played tonight. I don't think of my drones as assassins LOL but hey I'll go with the storyline. Isn't sector 7G where Homer Simpson works??

Speech by foreman flubber
Our separation from the Hive was a necessary step in allowing the self-determination of our peoples. The Hive is unnecessarily harsh and repressive toward the workers and we therefore sought to peacefully remove ourselves from the Hive collective. Unfortunately the Chairman's forces tried to prevent our people from their rights to personal freedom and some lives were lost in the uprising. While we plan to live as a peaceful and democratic nation, we may be unable to achieve peace with the repressive Hive.
Already I have heard rumours in which the Hive seek to sully our good name. There are claims that we attempted to assassinate the chairman. This allegation is false. I have no knowledge of any assassination attempt and would see such an action to be contrary to the principles of freedom and democracy on which our great nation was founded.
We have many challenges ahead and it is hoped that we can co-exist peacefully with the other nations on Planet. We have learned methods that we believe result in increased economic and industrial production while permitting our citizenry basic freedoms. . . We desire peace but will fight to protect those freedoms if necessary.

The investigation for the Chairman Yangs assassination continues. It yet has to be determined whether or not foreman Flubber and his low-life drones were responsible, regardless, they will be brought back for breaking the great Hives commandmends.

The first initial contacts has been established. This faction seems friendly enough and the exchange in technology will boost our mutual development.

I am also in six PBEMs and it kind of snuck up on me. I was down to one and had signed up for a tourney game and a role play game ages ago but neither was moving. Now things ballooned as I took over as a replacement for Walt in Axt 045, challenged you, and started the "Sealurk Alert" game. So that was four . . . but then I got a tourney game and the Roleplay game tried to start.
I'm hoping that it won't get too intense. I find that the early turns are so short its not a big deal and 4 of my 6 games are before 2120 so it should be ok for at least a month and by then one of my more advanced games might be over.
In any event, a turn or so a day is usually manageable and when there are generally reliable players , delays every now and again are more acceptable. On that note, I will be out of town and unable to play from Oct 17-21. I do not propose to get a replacement. Other than this I do not forsee any other significant periods on unavailability for several months.
