To those of you who are not on my email list , I will be away for the period from March 20-30 having a delayed honeymoon (hitched back in Oct.)
While I have obtained replacements for a couple of games, for the ones where I am a bit more involved, including this one, I am hoping everyone can live with the short hiatus. I figure these things have to be an accepted part of games that span months

"Let it be known, that the Peacekeepers, have every intent of living up to our great heritage and plan on keeping the peace, enforcing if necessary, in order to keep Planet a place where our children, and children's children will be able to play and prosper, without fear of war!"
Planetary applause.
"I ask each man, woman, child and all children of Planet, to work together, and help our Peacekeeping forces to win this war against fanaticism, and help keep our ideals of Democracy in tact for ages to come."

In a secret address to the Gaian High Council, Lady J is reported to have called for the complete annihilation of the so-called Cult of Planet. "It's high time that war-mongering SOB got his! I implore you never to forget the thousands of Free Drone citizens who perished at the hands of Cha Flubber's death squads! We have a long, dark road ahead and if we fail, who shall stand?"
Martial law has been declared throughout Gaian territory. Widespread nerve-stapling at several Gaian bases has been reported. The APP (Associated Planetary Press) has had it's offices in Gaia's Landing closed indefinitely by military police.

I think there's something really wrong with this game. I opened this turn to find three of my west coast bases in the possession of Chairman Yang, yet only one Hive ground combat unit was to be found - an infantry unit which couldn't have possibly taken all three bases in one turn. If Flubber seized these bases and gave them to Yang, he should have ground combat units somewhere nearby, but he doesn't. I know with absolute certainty that neither Yang nor Flubber was in a position to mind control all three bases last turn. Also, when I moved a unit adjacent to one of Yang's new empty bases, I got the "You shall pay for each and every one of your atrocities" and "You've massacred thousands of my people" messages - which I have never received as a result of nerve stapling.
Anyway, something is not right here. I'd be interested in giving Flubber my password so he could look at the turn and see if he recognizes it or could offer any legit explanation. I'm pretty much ready to quit this one as is. I had sensor coverage and air recon for the squares in question - I know there's no way these three bases were captured legitimately. I'm going to load the turn and check it out again, but it doesn't look good.
Edit: Flubber, it looks like I'm done here, unless you can provide a good explanation for what happened. I'm not accusing you of anything. I believe the game is buggy. If you disagree, I would like to see your last turn from the beginning, as proof. smhfan could send it to me and you could mail me your password. I have no objection to you having my password.
After further review, I've decided to play the turn as is. It is possible that with probe teams the three bases in question could've been captured by Flubber and turned over to Yang. I'm not satisfied with that explanation, but it's the best I could come up with on my own. And it doesn't explain why Yang thinks I commited atrocities against him.

I have no idea as to the atrocities thing. perhaps someone framed you for something. or maybe yang does not like nerve stapling for some reason
As for taking the bases, it was all legit. three ways it can happen (probably more but I know of these)
1. In my experience, sometimes when you gift a base, the unit inside or next to the base joins the new faction, sometimes it kicks the unit home and sometimes it just sits there. I have never been able to predict this behavior (perhaps there is a pattern I am not aware of?) and just live with the result when gifting bases. I do not know if this is a feature or a bug but I have never known it to work differently.
Here, gifting the bases to yang means that to get them back you have to keep at vendetta with yang. I knew i could not hold them and wanted to reduce the number of probe targets you would have (against me).
2. I have been known to self destruct units near or in a base when it pretty certain they are dead or would join the other side anyway as the base is vulnerable to probe control. For example, why would I leave a damaged and unarmoured rover in your lands? I will never get a chance to heal him up, thats for sure.
3. probe teams as you point out.
So no special bug as far as I can tell, just the way the game has always worked in all my games.
I will say that asking to view the turn from my side is offensive, impractical and would totally ruin the game. You could not help but see many things that infiltration information just does not provide you. Although you state you are not accusing me of anything, it surely does feel like it.
If you need verification, my preferred route would be to have the CMN ( Tau Ceti IIRC) review my turn. That way, the game is not spoiled when everything comes back as legitimate.
