Hmm. Well I haven't pre-ordered civ3, not for any particular reason, its just something I never do with games. Anyway, I will not be buying civ3 until firaxis releases a MP patch or decides to sell a whole new MP version.
I hope(and expect) that the Civ3 multiplayer version if sold separately will be a standalone product that won't require that you have the original SP version, like microprose did with civ2 MPG. If it does require the SP version, I'll get them both then, but I will not be happy about having to do that.
