Not sure if this has been posted about before, but Gamespot has posted what they advertise as the Civ3 Introduction Video. I'm downloading now, so I can't say whether or not its anything we've seen before. Here's the link:

I'm on cable and selected streaming @ T1 and it worked beautifully. But then, I don't have United States type cable, which is so slow that you might as well have 56K.

they must be trying to fool us

we had similar problems with the Lord of the Rings trailer. then someone who had downloaded it already put it on a better server (illegally) and we could download it from there with better rate. so if someone has it downloaded, please, put it up onto a good server. and it is possible that this server is quicker at times when none of us is on, so we mighjt eventually have good luck...

Use Flashget and select 10 as the number of parts to split it into. Goes much faster. Only took me a few minutes to get the 18MB file, even with the ZDNet server being really slow.

I don't know about you, but I'm kind of disappointed in that intro. Hopefully there's more to it in the actual game.

Very cool! Thanks for the heads-up, Serapis.

The music was incredible. I'm sure this bodes well for the in-game music as well. The visuals were ok, but then again, who watches an intro movie more than a handful of times? Usually I just hit Esc/Space/Enter/Mouse Click/whatever and get into the game.

I think it was quite good, but it must be lower quality then the other as you can see the streaming one in 2 minutes, and the other take LOOOONG to download.

I think the intro is very good, but not the best. (Nothing can beat AoK's intro!!)

It does set the mood really well. Seeing the Tower of Babel evolve through the technological eras does a good job, I think, in giving the player that sense of building something great through the ages. And that is what civ3 is all about, right? So, I think the intro does a great job in illustrating what the game will be about. And, the music is so much better than previous civs.

I give this intro a B+

The 56K streaming was absolutely horrible, but the cable streaming looked much better although it was a bit slower.
Now I'm downloading the 17MB file at 4KB/s

Yeah, I was expecting some bloodshed. Thankfully, I'll probably only watch the intro once or twice. Its the actual game that matters.
