Very strange typographical 'Poly curse Support Apolyton, buy GURPS/ Alpha Centauri

There appears to be an odd bug that replaces the string "ely " with "++++". As exhibit A, I present dainbramaged's 1st post on this thread:

I've seen it once or twice before as well. It's truly wierd. Any ideas?

Just going to try it myself...

Does this completely muck up the formatting?

Edit: hmm - curiously no. But I have seen it before.
