well, is this "16 civs in game" thing confirmed or people are just expressing their wishful thinking..
all the screenshots we have seen so far are designed for eight civs.. especially those recent diplomacy screens where leaders form a polygon with eight nodes..
up until a week, it was beleived that it would be possible to use the editor to increase the max civ limit to 16 but most screens were made up for 8 civs..
i know Dan said in a thread that largest sized maps would be playable by 16 civs, but does that mean that the game can --naturally-- be played with 16?
what do u say?

16 civs is supposedly now possible in the startup screens. I don't think they would have done that if it wasn't supported by all screens.

The default world sizes in Civilization III are as follows:
Tiny World: 60x60 4 Civs
Small World: 80x80 6 Civs
Standard World: 100x100 8 Civs
Large World: 140x140 12 Civs
Huge World: 180x180 16 Civs
You can use the included editor to alter these world sizes, with the ability to create maps up to 256 x 256 in size. |

That would be my guess as well.
