	Dutch Apolyton Meeting Tired of ads?

Any Dutch geek worth his salt probably knows about the upcoming HCC-dagen (the biggest computer fair in the Netherlands) at the jaarbeurs in the city of Utrecht (23/24/25 nov). I'm certainly planning to go but I thought it would be fun to organize an Apolytoners meeting while there. My own plan would be to do it on a saturday (24 nov). We can either meet at a specific place while at the fair (there's a restaurant on the first floor that's relatively quiet seen my previous experiences) or at the end of the day and get a drink and something to eat somewhere in Utrecht.

Timetable clash, arrgh!

There is a Leeds meet that weekend, and curiously despite going to Leeds I live closer to Utrecht. Can't change my plans now though.

Perhaps we can set up a videolink.

...I've never been to the HCC-dagen...I'm interested...I'll have to take a day off from work off though...but let's see what the Dutch community thinks

I prefer a meeting on a weekday. That way I can travel for free with my OV

By the way, maybe I should contact Dr. Oogkloot once upon a time. Heīs studying at the same place I am, but Iīve never really seen him (or maybe I have, but I didnīt know it was him).

OH NO!!! I canīt possibly go the 24th of November. Iīll have to sit at home and mourn (or go to a tribute concert and party). Itīs the 10th anniversary of Freddie Mercuryīs death!

Sure. Iīve posted some pics in the late Apolyton beauty contests, so he might have recognized me. But then again, Iīve hardly ever been at the Euclides building the last 15 months or so... Which basically means heīs had little chance to see me (heīs a 2nd years student now, yes?)

Well if someone arranges another one for Netherlands/Belgium etc in the future, I will see what I can do. As I live in Hull (major port with ferry roots to Rotterdam) it is no real problem and not too expensive. If someone can help me with the accommodation as well () then I will see what I can do. Strange how on most days I can get to Rotterdam a lot cheaper than I can get to London

If we're going to mee, I prefer saturday, since as a freelancer it's quiet expensive to take a day of during the week

Ahh...it would be good to see you again, Rich...and if it's for one day...you could come in the morning and leave in the evening...(...without worrying about accomodation...), couldn't you...?

I'm right here. I would like to meet some other Apolytoners, but the proposed weekend of 24-11 isn't the best for me because of my mother's birthday. I don't think she would like it if I missed her birthday just because I wanted to meet some people I know from the internet.

Whoa, seems there's definitely interest for a meeting! One at a time please. My preference would be sat 24 nov or (if the demand is great enough) sun 25th nov.

As for the issue of travel cost, there's a giant computer market with hundreds of hardware and software bargains (maybe even Civ3 ). Plus you'll finally meet some posters in the flesh! You're bound to come back as a winner anyway you look at it.

I was thinking, what language would your meet be in. Cos if I ever went to a Dutch meet it would be difficult unless I force you all to speak English; My abilty to speak hurdy-gurdy is limited to to say the least.
