Its the LE version, coems with a steering wheel and foot pedals for driving those tanks !@!!!!

Pherhaps the LE will come with a flight simulator for your air battles, and sim-city for all of your cities !
And after you've build freeways you can play Need for Speed 4 as well !!!!

Best Buy knows absolutely nothing about anything they sell. And I refuse to believe they'll have it in stores on November 1st - that's too unlike them (getting a software release that soon after the release).

Anyway, I'm getting mine at EB on October 31st.

Sad but true. I bought the pre-order box at Best Buy. In big letters on the box it says "Exclusively at Best Buy."

At the checkout counter, I asked if someone would call me when the game arrives. The question baffled her (she thought the box I was buying was the game), so she asked the next cashier, who in turn called the manager. But the manager was clueless! He also seemed to think that the pre-order box was the game. He then checked something on the computer, and came back with, "I guess someone will call you when it comes in.

All that to get a non-answer.

To their credit, they usually do have the best prices, but man are they clueless.

Man, I knew I should have ordered the LE version instead

Well, I just got done checking the Bestbuy.com site again and noticed that they are now offering BOTH the regular and LE editions of Civ3! In the past, only the regular game was offered.

So I went ahead and preordered 2 copies of the LE, but I had to call Bestbuy.com to cancel my pending order for 2 copies of the regular game (I don't want to wind-up with 4 copies of Civ3 )

I asked the telephone operator why the site lists Civ3 as "Simulation & Driving " instead of "Simulation & Strategy." She laughed and said that it is just human error in the posting. I told her that I really didn't care what genre Bestbuy places Civ3 under...just as long as I receive it!
