Two more Roman cities have been captured in the face of the relentless advance of the mighty Australian Armed Forces. The great Roman city of Antium and the lesser New Jerusalem fell with little resistance, and Australian troops suffered few casualties.
It is now clear that Roman demise is inevitable, as greater and greater numbers of Australian troops swarm the Roman mainland. The sheer speed of the Australian advance has left reinforcements languishing behind the front, denying them their chance of action. The only thing slowing the Australian advance is the pathetic state of the Roman infrastructure. There has been no sign of a Navy or Air Force in some time, so it appears that Rome has nothing but a small number of ground troops left.
Don Bradman II is pleased. This campaign has been clinically swift, and the Australian armed forces has actually grown since the start of the war; an indication of the impotence of the Roman Army. Against massively overwhelming odds, the conquest of Rome shall be completed very shortly.
In other news, Australian scientists have noticed a sharp rise in German pollution! With the imminent threat of catastrophic global flooding, this development is disturbing indeed Our alliance and eternal friendship will not prevent this catastrophe from happening, so the only solution is for Germany to manage their pollution effectively. If Germany does not have the technology to make further improvements, then Australian scientists may be able to help. Hey, it's better than the Australian soldiers we sent to help Rome
Tweety, you've been a great and worthy opponent, so i salute you! It's been nice knowing ya, but the end is nigh!!

In a colossal loss to Rome, five Roman cities were captured by Australian troops, leaving just two Roman cities at the mercy of Australian fascists. At least one of the Roman cities appears to have a large force of modern units, but their deaths are inevitable.
However, at least one more Cyberninja remain, which still poses a threat to Australian troops, but with a contingent of Australian cyberninjas approaching, there will be nowhere to hide.
Meanwhile, modern thinking has put the fascist Australian government in jeopardy, with calls for a modern corporatised government to lead Australia into the future. With the war with Rome coming to an end soon, Australia is approaching an era of no enemies, so many people are questioning the relevancy of a fascist government. The glorious fascist troops, with their long and proud history, may soon be banished to history!

I did want to kill you and not a sub, but the sub was Faded Glory, so it was just as much fun If only some of those nuclear attacks were successful, it would have made my progress so much more difficult. Well played, Max. You were indeed a worthy opponent! Now you're in TweetyBird heaven, oblivious to the pain and suffering of life on earth, inflicted by a menacing, meglomaniacal, bloodthirsty, delusional despot. Oh, wait a minute....that was ME! You swine, Lung, you
*switches to aforementioned menacing, meglomaniacal, bloodthirsty, delusional despot's hat*
THE ROMANS HAVE SURRENDERED!!! General TweetyBird Maximus has signed the unconditional surrender, after being utterly defeated by the rampaging Aussies. In return, Maximus and the remaining Roman citizens shall be allowed to live, albeit under the Australian government. The last two remaining Roman cities fell with little resistance, signalling the end of a bloody, but efficiently short war. Overwhelming numbers were complemented by the awesome Fusion Tanks, which were never defeated in a single battle, the Romans seemingly at a loss as to how to destroy these formidable machines.
Australia immediately stood down from it's state of war, triggering a fall of the long-standing Fascist government. In defiance, 23 entire regiments of Fascists committed mass suicide! Such a proud history distinguished by centuries of glorious victories on the field of battle, extinguished in a single moment of madness!
Big Business is jostling for political position, with their sudden rise in influence elevating the concept of a "corporate republic" to high on the list of possible outcomes. They argue that it would most benefit Australia in the upcoming post-war years by stimulating economic growth, thus recovery.
Australia will invest large sums into the new Australian state of "New Rome", in order to reduce the devastating effects of years of war, so once again the Roman people may prosper.

So, do i continue to be a bastard and overwhelm Paul's attempt to build the Sensorium by building every wonder at everyone else's expense, thus exploiting my overwhelming production advantage, or do i make a game of it? I doubt if the mighty Paul would like receiving charity, but i think it might be fair, all things considered.
After all, i did promise to stick vehemently to peaceful pursuits, battling you two on science and expansion only. What do you blokes think?

Come back, Tweety!! There's nothing to read here except for my ramblings! Paul only says what turn it is, and Steve says nothing at all!!
One turn, and i already miss the defiance and the deluded threats of reprisals and revenge which kept me on my toes I killed my dear feathered friend, and now he is gone!
In other news, Lung is once again waiting his mandatory four turns for his government to change Everyone else gets to change goverment within a random number of turns up to four turns, but Lung has had to wait four turns every time!
Turn 249 to Stavros 10 hours ago. Say something, Stavros! Well, i must say, the "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" doctrine of Steve's has served him very well in this game

Would it be fair to say that Paul "gives no quarter, expects no quarter given"? In which case i shall build everything in sight
250 TURNS! In just over a year, that's pretty good by Apolyton standards. Congratulations, everyone, for keeping this game at a fast pace. After all, why do you think i selected you guys in the first place!
Lo and behold, Australia has emegered from anarchy in just three turns, and has formed a new form of government - what shall be hereto referred to as a "corporate republic". This new government has spurred tremendous growth, with new cities forming everywhere, science accelerating beyond all previous rates of progress, and certain cities becoming havens for future technologies. The world without Romans and Indians is truly a wonderous place!!
