	OPINION Re NEXT PURCHASE FOR NEW CIVER Support Apolyton, buy Call to Power 2

I would like the opinon of the honorable civer community: I have now been playing CTP 2 for nearly a year and would like to purchase another 'civ' game. The problem being which one?

Please advise on how to spend my hard-earned cash!!

Civ3 comes out on October 30. Seems the obvious choice. If you want to try Civ2, you can probably pick up a used copy for less than $20.

i've seen civ2 for $10 in a double cd case, but everytime i go to buy it to see what's in it they don't have any displayed

Yeah it would definitely seem that Civ3 is the one that would be most important.

However if cost is a concern both Civ2 MGE and SMAC are under $10 at stores in the US and both would be a valuable investment for the amount of time that you will put in. I would suggest Civ3 or SMAC because the amount of time you are going to play Civ2 after CtP2 is not going to be as high as having the change of pace of space or adding new rinkles such as culture.

You can get <em>SMAC/X</em> now, play that for a year, then get <em>Civ 3</em> at a reduced cost.
