civ3s coming out on oct 31, right?
wel, i dont know how widely known it is, but supposedly my mom heard some scam email that was sent that said dont ride planes on 9-11 and dont go to malls on 10-31... so she actually believes it and refuses to take me to go pick my ciopy of civ3 up that day! needless to say, i got my friend to take me, but i just wanted to let y'all know

Couldn't you just walk or take a bike? And don't tell us the mall is too far away because every suffering is acceptable if you are about to get Civ3 in your hands. (The way back from the mall must be horror though).

australia has arrested a few idiots who sent hoax anthrax letters to people (most were jsut talcum powder)

They are tlaking of minimum 10 yrs jail...


As for the game go get it and as you walk through the mall, give tghe terrorists the finger !!!!

While we all know it is a hoax...if you were his mom (are any of you?? ), what would you do? Potentially take the risk, or just tell him to wait one day to be ultra-safe, even if it is silly?

I'd rather be silly and safe than bold and kaput.

If you look closely enough on the net, you can find someone warning about it being unsafe to go into [insert name of city here] on every single weekend.

I don't worry much about such things. But then, I was living in London during the peak IRA fun-and-games era. Kinda got used to the imminent threat of sudden discombobulation...

I was living in London from 1993-1995. During that period everything was going bananas. The biggest ever IRA bomb went off in 94. They devastated the square-mile (financial heart of London). Security was so tight (or I so evil looking) that I got stopped by the police, not once, but twice.

This paranoia that the world is going through is just silly. As long as people defacate in their panties because of terrorists, the terrorists continue laughing.
