Good question. In another game (Clone Wars) I made the mistake of calling an election without giving a one turn notice, for which I was chastised by SITS for violating Apolyton Rules. However, I think that we should all agree to declare one turn in advance our intent to declare an election in the immediate future: the subtleties and inuendo that then occur are some of the best aspects of the game! Hi there,
My interpertation of the rule is that you have to notify all players when calling a vote, that is before or right after you played your turn. Meaning, the last player of the playing order would have a chance to consult with a player prior to himslef in the order for whatever reason. Therefor I don't see the necessity of actually having to notify an entire turn ahead. My humble opinon as an Apolyton player and moderator of this ASPK II.

I don't want and won't accept a one turn prior notification.

What I expect is that whoever calls a council for whatever reason should broadcast that fact immediately upon completion of his turn.

No replay is necessary in this case. Obviously, there had been prior collusion between Darsnan and Radman. (because in my previous turn, Radman lacked all the commlinks to be able to call an election) No offer I could have made, even with the receipt of timely notification of election, would have been sufficient to break Darsnan from that collusive effort.

I have no issues with Mongoose's proposal of simply declaring in the thread when an election has been called. Lets get this game moving again!

I concur. I did not expect a 1 turn notification, just a chance to bargain etc. It is therefore usual practice to post/email all players that an election has been called & how many votes are available. Not that it would have made a difference in this case. Still such a start does not bode well for the first planetary government.
