Thanks very much for the post.
When you click on the Unit Button that lists all the units - is there an "Extra Unit A" "Extra Unit B" "Extra Unit C" etc. etc. as there was in Civ 2 ?
Or are we truly limited to only that number of Units that came with the original game ? (And therefore to add extra we must delete some of the originals ?)

Sorry guys, as far as I can tell, there is no easy way to add a new unit or new unit graphic--at least in the editor. There might be a way to do it by adding a folder under \Civ3\Arts\Units\. There are a number of folders under there that are named after the game's units, and in each folder there are a number of files, e.g.:
Volume in drive G is NTFS_VOL
Volume Serial Number is CCE1-CE1F
Directory of G:\Civ3\Art\units\Bomber
10/30/2001 08:46a .
10/30/2001 08:46a ..
10/02/2001 10:49a 1,108 Bomber.INI
10/02/2001 10:49a 34,006 BomberAtckGun.wav
10/02/2001 10:49a 228 BomberAttack.amb
10/02/2001 10:49a 104,807 BomberAttackA.flc
10/02/2001 10:49a 212,492 BomberBomb.flc
10/02/2001 10:49a 145,672 BomberBomb.wav
10/02/2001 10:49a 442,877 BomberDeath.flc
10/02/2001 10:49a 105,514 BomberDeath.wav
10/02/2001 10:49a 23,783 BomberDefault.flc
10/02/2001 10:49a 64,522 BomberRun.flc
10/02/2001 10:49a 132,650 BomberRun.wav
12 File(s) 1,267,659 bytes
I tried simply creating a new folder and seeing if that would show up in the CivEditor, but it didn't.
So, there may still be a way, but it's not going to be easy.

Good stuff, Pezz. Rather than creating a new folder you might want to try to copy an existing folder and just change all the names (e.g. Bomber->Bomber2), for all the file names and in the .INI file too (I suspect)...
Yeah, I, like Gramphos, would very much like to see those files too, it would be fantastic if you (or anyone else for that matter) could attach a sample...
Bebro,
Yeah, those are probably anims. It's almost inevitable to have that sort of stuff in seperate files, compress it and all... CtP also had this. Most likely Firaxis will eventually release an editor, just a matter of time (I hope).

I can't zip the entire folder since the resulting file is above the 200k message board limit, but here are some files you can play with. I don't know what the .amb file is.
