How to make small screenshots? Support Apolyton

Ok, so I had a couple of saved screenshots with some minor bugs I wanted to post, but I have NO clue how to get the file sizes down anywhere near small enough for Apolyton to accept.

I save them through Paint, only way I know how, as massive 2.5 meg .bmp files. Even Clipping down to 20% of the picture, to show only the important stuff (and losing the context), they're still way too big.

Help!

Enter the AD-FREE zone

Save them as JPEG quality 3. That should make a lot of difference.

Full PM-box? Change here!

It seems paint will only let me save them as various colour-depth bitmaps. Any freeware programs that would let me do this?

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

If all else fails, try Paint Shop Pro. Its a fairly big download tho... but will allow you to edit graphics, and change them from bmp to jpg or gif, or dozens of others. Good luck

You could try an evaluation copy of paint shop pro.

As well as reducing the actual size of the files (converting BMP to JPG) you might need to restrict the physical dimensions.

600*600 (I think) is the limit for posting on these forums. You may need to crop your images, before they'll fit.
