In medival battle now as France vs. the Russians.
In this phase of Civ3, defence is the biggest BI*CH to overcome.
I thought my KNights and Longbowmen (each with an attack of 4) would overcome the spearmen (defence of 2)in a town. Well, guess what?
Thats right, the Longbowman dies, the Knight retreats. Dang. AI is bringing in the reinforcements to the city, still 2 turns for my Catapult(s) to arrive. Worst thing is: On my continent, which I just discovered Gunpowder, my huge territory has NO saltpeter. Russia...little dinkey place, 1/2 size of me, has 3. SO, I had to do something that I never did in Civ1 or Civ2: Declare War on a peace agreement. After all, if my Knights arent that good against spearmen, what if those Knights gotta attack Musket Men?
