Tech Tree.... POSTER? Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

Hey all,

Is there anyone who got the LE of Civ 3 expecting to find a sweet tech tree poster like that of Civ2, only to find that you got a Tech Treee Napkin!?!

I mean seriously, the thing is about 6 inches tall and 3 feet long. The pictures on it are tiny and I have to actually squint at it to read the advances and what comes with them.

I wanted a POSTER, not some hand-held reference. May seem like small businees, but it is another in the long list of things I hoped would be better...

Here we see the end of the tech tree posted, with my mouse layed across it. Note how the mouse absolutly dwarfs the supposed....poster.

pp.s.- sorry for the blurriness...

Is there actually ANYTHING in the LE over and above what you get in the basic package that is worth having???

From the comments I've seen here and elsewhere, it seems all you actually get is a nice tin instead of a cardboard box, which hardly seems worth the extra expense.

I reckon those of us this side of the Atlantic are actually better off not having this tat dumped on us.

Support Apolyton, buy GURPS/ Alpha Centauri

While I haven't yet checked out the extra movies that came with the LE, my impression so far is that it is not worth an extra $10.

I agree about the tech tree "poster".:

#1, it is too small; the name of the advance is barely legible and the improvements that the advance allows are nothing more than a graphic representation. If you don't already know what the pictures represent, it's kinda of useless (but pretty!) since you'll have to reference the book or civlopedia to find out.

#2, it is nothing more than screen captures of the science advisor screens. You can even see the jagged edges on the fonts. Very poor and cheap in my opinion. Anyone could make the same thing with a color printer.
