China AD 1760:
China has had a long and glorious history, being always the most advanced civilization on the planet. It was a peaceful country with no wars and friendly neighbours. That was until Gunpowder was discovered.
Once the Chinese scentist discovered the mysterious technology of Gunpowder and seeing an immediate need to upgrade their armies of spearmen to musketmen, they did many but futile attempts to extract salpeter from their territory. So they turned their eyes to their neigbours...
Russia was a relatively small country, located on an island south of the Chinese border. In their ignorance they completely overlooked a vast amount of Salpeter deposits located in the heart of their land (it might be due to their lack of technology). Depserate to secure at least one source of Salpeter, China started mobilizing for war. Vast amounts of Galleys were built and production was shifted to horsemen and archers.
On the eve of the attack, China contacts the Russian embassy and demands two key cities on the north part of their Island. With the Russian rude rejection war was declared. The poorly prepared Russian cities were no match for the huge waves of horsemen and archers and within a couple of years the first city was captured. With the continous shutteling from the border town "Peace, man" (the founder was high on Ivory) of troops and workers soon the troops were knocking on Moscows gates while the workes were improving the infrastructure and logistics.
With the Salpeter resource secure, the Chinese War Council thought it best to wipe out the Russians completely in order to completely secure the Salpeter. The Russians were never heard of again.
Now the Chinese war machine was in gear and it seemed like a pity to slow it down, just because there was no one to fight. The Chinese war machine shifted toward Riders, the Chines UU, and the future target could be one of two people: Romans or Japanese.
The Romans were located futher south of the ex-Russian island and was about the same size as the Russians were. But due to logistics concerns they were dropped in favor for a much closer (yet with less resources) Japanese "friend" bordering the Chinese to the east. The japanese had already lost a couple of their cities to the Chinese due to their superior culture, but they were about 1.5 times as big as the Chinese. Reports had also indicated that the Japanese had their frightning Samurai warriors roaming the lands.
After a 100 years or two of "peace" with dozens of divisions of Riders being formed the day was ready... This time no excuse was given, except prepare for war! A quick chat with the French (south of the Japanese) resulted in a coalition against the Japanese. The French singlehandedly persuaded the Indians (south of France) to join the conflict too and the whole continent was waging war against the evil Japanese.
AD 1760: The war is far from over, the Chinese has captured about 10 cities, France 4 and India 3. India has sued peace with Japan, content with its three big cities on the East coast. France is sending its knights like they were lemen, but are hampered due to bad logistics. The Chinese has recently discovered Railroads and with the help of 10 Japanese slave labours the first transcontinental railroad will probably open within the next 40 years. The japanese cities are falling one by one to the mighty armies of Sun Tzu and others...
But what lies in the future? After the Japanese downfall and with only one source of coal (ex-japanese), maybe France with its Silk, Gems and coal supplies?

The war continued and one Japanese city fell after tha other. The Chinese people heard of some extreme astrocities performed by the French. Large cities (population 800 000) got razed to the ground, and the population slaughtered in mass graves... Needless to say, the next target of Chinese "influence" was selected. The war between the Japs and Chinese ended when the last city reachable by their forces was conquered while India joined in on the war at the end and destroyed the last japanese colonies.
Right after the war ended revolution swept China and Communism emerged! In peace, the Chinese people pursued research and emphasized on infastructure and city improvments. All to get ready to the next big war with the unsuspecting France. France is, due to their massive expansion, one of the largest civilizations in the world. They are, however, still playing with knights as China produces the first artillery and infantry units
The major cities of China have completed the world first and largest factories and coal plants, producing over 60 shields a turn! These cities are spitting out infantry like if they had severe saliva problems. These infantry are upgrading the defence of all the front line cities and enforcing marital law (up to 4 units can make the people "happy").
All is ready for a new war, possibly a world war seeing that Franch is allied with India and the Egyptians... but are they any match to the military machine of China?
