Building city on mountain square(NOT) - manual says ALL terrain squares, right ??? Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

Can't build city on mountain. Couldn't in Civ2 either, but.....?
Manual says ALL terrain squares (xcept ocean probably ?), guess this is not so after all ?

(or does the readme.txt say something ? not home right now, and don't remember....)

it does say in the manual you can't build on mountains.

yes I read the manual. most of it was worthless for an experienced civ player. but I found a few tidbits of usefullness in it.

In civ2 you could build cities on mountains...jeez you Apolytoners...last time I had to correct someone that in civ2 caravans cost 50 shields not 40...
