	auto crash when trading coal, can anyone confirm Enter the AD-FREE zone

I've retried to trade coal five times now, and each time it crashes. It happened earlier in the game too (twice I'm pretty sure), but didn't think much of it.

Can anyone try it out? I'm hoping it's just me though. To reproduce the crash, load the save file, hit F4 (diplomacy), talk to the French (Joan), offer coal, and ask "Perhaps you can make an offer for coal ..."

It should then hang the game.

I'm using win2k, radeon 32ddr, p3 and newest directx.

edit: I just discovered that the french refuses coal if it's given as a gift, which is probably the cause of this bug. They don't have any coal though within any of their territory. i wish i knew what was wrong

I wasn't able to reproduce the crash. France accepted my gift of coal and also offered 1 gold per turn for coal in another instance.

Just got word that what you're describing is probably a bug that has been fixed by the forthcoming patch, which is probably why I couldn't reproduce it.

thanks for checking!

shame to all those bashing firaxis. Would they actually be checking our posts, saved games and holding discussion if what they wanted was to make a fun game?

btw, if anyone else checked the save, you can see that the old capital of france (paris) has coal attached to it, even though it isn't owned by the french anymore. I would of assumed the AI would realize this but who knows, maybe it didn't refresh it's resource list.
