I once gave thought about counting who had the last post in each thread on the last 10 or 20 pages worth of threads and giving the non-mod winner the Apolyton's Most Boring Poster Award, but gave it up when I realized that it would require actual time-intensive work to accomplish such a tally.

I started with all the thread that ended before midnight this morning, EST (I'm in Maryland, so this is just easiest).

I'll post my results when I compile them. I'm simply doing a tally of all the final posters.

I started with yesterday and went back to roughly October 10th.

The winner is Alexander's Horse with 21. November Adam did pretty well, with 13 though .

I'm not a DL of DarkCloud.

Please normalize by the total number of posts made by each poster during that period. Just go back and add them up. Put in spreadsheet and have one column divided by the next.

First one is Alexander's Horse with 293 posts in Off-Topic since the evening of October 10th. That number might be slightly off, I was keeping track in my head while my roommate was telling me all about how he'd just gone to war with the Chinese over some alluminum.

So, 21 divided by 293 is .0716723. I'll compare that to the other top ranked people, Bob Dornan, devilmunchkin, derek, Dissident, dv8ed, Ecthelion, faded glory, Infatuation, JohnT, Lonestar, November Adam, paiktis22, Provost Harrison, rah, Ramo, Seeker, Slowwhand, and Urban Ranger. All of them were the final posters in ten or more threads.

But that can wait for tomorrow night. Later, y'all.

edit: That should be 21 over 273 is .0769230. A rediculous number of significant figures, but still.

In some cases being the last to post on a thread is an indication of always having to have the last word. That explains Ashers score.

Another method for testing is seeing how long elapses between someones post and the next reply. I say this because those on-line in the recent few hours will have a higher score than those who have only just come online for the first time that day.
