The unique unit is the terrorist. It can be found here. If this unit is not intalled,
this mod won't work.
if you do not have it, the terrorist unit can be found here with install directions...
1. just put the folder terrorist in /art/units, the rest is taken care.

it's called Civilization_Taliban.zip
1. unzip the file taliban
2. put all images in the folder called advisors into /art/advisors
These files will show the proper heads on the foreign policy screen.
The original files are included and are marked _original.
3. put all images in the folder called leaderheads into /art/leaderheads
The original files are included and are marked _original.
4. Put the file in the folder called animated leader into /art/flics
This is your animated leader, it doesn't overwirte any file.
5. place Taliban.Bic into /scenarios
6. make sure you have the terrorist unit in place (directions above) or the mod will not work
To run the game fire up civ 3, choose load scenario, and pick Taliban.Bic

If you want to keep the taliban in permenently, simply backup civ3mod and rename Taliban.bic
to civ3mod.bic.

this replaces the graphics for the iriquois. To revert to the original graphics, simply
restore the original files in the 3 folders mentioned above. It's simplest to back up
the entire folders.

when support is available for adding civs, this mod will be changed,and the iriquois added back.

Obviously you sir are completely lacking a conscience. To dignify that person and that organization with the term Civilization is simply beyond belief. That you would be willing to play a game that "honors" this person by including him amongst the great historical civilizations while bodies are still being recovered at the WTC and coalition troops are in the field is abominable.
Shame on you for devoting any of your time or imagination to this task. There are so many great historical civilizations that were left out of the game yet you chose to take the time to honor people who would kill you because simply you are an American or flog you for using a computer.

Umm Germany exterminated 6 million Jews, The Zulus were slaughter hungry, The Aztecs ritualistically sacrificed humans, even the American government (SHOCK!) has made some bad mistakes. Every Civ has black points in history. Along your lines of thinking there should be no Civs in the game.
Just because Governments screw up doesnt make their citizens evil or any less worthy of being a civilization.
Please think things through before making ignorant posts.

who would play as this civ, i don't know, if you want to play as the Taliban i'd say that's ok with me, but i know they don't have pc's, internet, let alone civ 3 in the mountains of afghanistan.

Yeah...but...calling the Taliban a civilization is like making the Columbian Contras a civilization...the last time I looked at the game, a Civilization was meant to mean a large group of people, mostly unicultural, that either all were under the control of a despot or monarch (Babylon, Persia, Greece), or a more modern-day-defined nation-state in which multiple cultures of people identify themselves under one flag.
The Taliban, on the other hand, is a group of quasi-fundamentalists who were neither popularly elected nor ever gained total control of their country. They're not a Civilization, they're a ruling regime. If they count as a Civ, then so should every political party Latin America's had over its 180 years of revolution v. counter-revolution.
Afghanistan might qualify as a civilization, I mean, they've been around for quite some time. However, the Taliban can not, and, therefore, having a discussion about "x civilization killed y amount of people" ignores the simple fatt that this mod is only in existance to entertain those Civ3 players who wish to bash in the head of Osama bin Laden.Just because Governments screw up doesnt make their citizens evil or any less worthy of being a civilization.
If you're one of these people, download Taliban, if you're not, get back to playing Civ3. 
(and now the cosmic question....whether tis nobler to go to class or play civ3...hmm)

Well, then just install the Fascist Patch, and have the Fascists over-run the Taliban!
See how the obvious solution eludes us!
I say nothing wrong with this patch at all... I'd be happy to stomp the Taliban's butts!

Among the great historical civilizations that have committed many atrocities throughout the world , most of which far , far worse than Osama ever did. Many of those leaders are represented in the Civ 3 game. For example, I am often amazed at how people can react so emotionally when a Hitler or Osama leaderhead comes out, but NO reaction whatsoever with having Firaxis-approved Mao Tse-Tung in the game, playing the Chinese as him and having him in the game! This is a man who killed 40 million people!!! 40 million! More than Hitler and Osama combined! Also, I wonder how people would react if there were cameras around during the campaigns of Alexander, Caesar, and soon to be Firaxis approved Genghis Khan. How about if we had seen what Lincoln's generals did to the South? American backed dictatorships in Latin America have killed far more than the 4000 people killed by Osama in the WTC. These dictatorships were often brutally oppressed their people and in many instances, the American gov. openly overthrow a Democratically elected government in install a more friendly Hitler-like dictator who would ruthlessly kill their own people. But nobody says anything about that and the other civs, they're just great historical civilizations.

Who would play a WW2 scenario representing Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany? Josef Stalin and the Soviet Union? Well, um, 99% of Civilization players. Oy, hypocrisy is rampant in this thread! And in this mod, unlike playing Nazi Germany in a WW2 scenario, where you know what kind of regime it was and what it did, you can make the Taliban whatever you want it to be. This isn't a 9-11 scenario, its just a additional civilization where you start from 4000 BC. For example, your Taliban can be the most peace loving civilization in the world! Well, how about calling the Americans a civilization? Its a country that has only been known in the civilized for world for about 500 years, has only been of any kind of importance for maybe 150, also, its a mish mosh of cultures that are already represented in the Civ game, even the "native" americans probably came from Asia.

Or how about if one calls the Iroquois a Civ, then one should call every single Native/Aboriginal tribe to be a Civilization? Also, why so technical? Since when have creators been historically perfect or accurate? I mean, look at the boards full of all these crazy looking maps, and space civilizations, Alpha-Centuri or whatever its called, i have no interest in that whatsoever but I don't critisize it, if that makes them happy, its fine with me. And speaking of accuracy, the how about the Firaxis decision to put the Aztecs in the game, but not the Spanish who only "discovered" and colonized most of the New World. They also put Montezuma as leader of the Aztecs but the only reason Firaxis and anyone else even knows Montezuma, is because he was the leader when the Spanish took over! He was a disaster for the Aztecs, its like putting Emperor Nero or Caligula as leader of the Romans or Herbert Hoover or Richard Nixon as leader of the Americans! Sounds funny doesn't it?
