Games graphics - 16 bit vs 32 bit Increase the size of your Attachments

I bought Empire Earth today but only have a 16-bit graphics card (a Voodoo 3) and was wondering if a 32-bit graphics card like a Ge-Force 2 would make a difference to the way the game looks and to games in general?
Can anyone who knows from personal experience tell me if there really is a major difference in grahics picture quality? Is it worth upgrading?

The difference is marginal, particularly for games where images have discrete instead of continuous colours.

32-bit colour is only important if you work a lot with photographs.

I don't notice any difference between 16/32bit color in games...

And I didn't notice much difference between my VoodooBanshee and Geforce2 MX either.

An upgrade is on the way... Support Apolyton, buy GURPS/ Alpha Centauri

Well, I've ordered a Geforce2 card which is due in tomorrow. This is the proper DDR version - Titanium, which has replaced the Pro.

I've been told that I'll get more performance upgrading my card than I would from going up to a Pentium 4.

I currently have a PIII450 and my card is a Voodoo 3 which has some dreadful looking graphics on the older 2D games. I'm lead to understand that anti-aliasing will help there.

Anyway, just thought I'd let you know.
