I am having trouble upgrading units. I meet the requirements, but I am still unable to do it. I have tried with several races. I am past the time when upgrading becomes available. Please help!

A couple of things.....
You can only upgrade in a city.
You must have a barracks in the city where you are attempting to upgrade.
You must have the resources for the unit you wish to upgrade to.
Those resources need to be connected to the city where you have the barrcks and the unit you wish to upgrade.
maybe that helps?

Thanks DreadDireWolf, I had the same problem (my cause was a lack of barracks). All the guy says is that there isn't ONE of that type of unit that can be upgraded (sheesh).

Also, before the upgrade button appears in the unit's commands you moust have enogh gold in treasury to afford upgrade.
From my own experience - (Germans, Warlord) upgrade of a Spearman to a Pikeman - 30gold, Pikeman to Musketman -60gold
