Speed Up Upgrading Units? Support Apolyton

God, this game is driving me nuts. Is there no way to upgrade all the units of the same class, e.g., rifleman, at once?

I have 68 riflemen, and I laboriously had to upgrade them one by one -- by going to my Military Advisor and then:

1. left-clicking on the city
2. right-clicking on a rifleman
3. left-clicking on Upgrade to Infantry
4. left-clicking on OK

doing 2 to 4 above for each rifleman in the city, and then

5. left-clicking on X to close the screen, bringing me back to the Military Advisor, and then repeating 1 through 4 above, etc.

And just after I had finished all of them (between 250 and 300 clicks!), the game crashed (for the fourth time during this game), and I will have to upgrade them all over again!

This, plus the mind-numbing tedium of waiting two to three minutes beween turns, is almost the last straw, I'm afraid. I've really had it with this game.

Anyway, if you know of a faster method of upgrading, please let me know.
Thanks.

Full PM-box? Change here!

You can also use Ctrl-Shift-U to upgrade all units of the selected type in all cities.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

I guess... but then again, that takes three fingers, while Shift-U only takes two.

My bad. I have always assumed Shift-U only upgraded the units in that one city. As in U upgrades unit, Shift-U upgrades all of that type in one city, Ctrl-Shift-U upgrades them in all cities.

I've been wrong before, so it's not unfamiliar territory for me.
